Something like that probably would have worked better. I used my backup software to reload an image on the blank drive.

I just dug out the broken up concrete in my garage and used the Quickrete Nylon Patch in it. It's hard to trowel when the floor isn't just right. I finally decided to get it close, and I'll sand it a scosche.

I did reset the NVRAM / PRAM, but in hindsight, I'm not sure that was necessary. It was a hail mary attempt to get it to recognize the changes I made.
Samsung for sure

Recall quite a few hail mary's back in the day lol, Zap the Pram, 3 chimes and controller resets /SMC.... Your Macbook is prob a little diff today. Had a G3 Graphite in the beginning followed by a G5 quite a few years later. Yeah, much older than that Macbook.

Cant do much with a pre 09 Mini afa upgrades. That was the stopper if I remember right. Perhaps you can get around that now. It's been a very long time for me.

I can't recall which processor, couldn't do much there as well. That required 09 inards as well. The one you have there is a 05 or 06?

When people post a statement like this and expect a response... that's a massive pet peeve for me. We get a lot of people that post this type of stuff on our town page, and expect you to know how to respond.

You know what, that's a good question. I'll look again tonight at the build date.

This Macbook is called a "Mid-2012", lol.

LOL

Not only that...

The engine compartment is a cross between a 99 and 98. There are parts under that hood that shouldn't be there.

Someone did a number on it. They combined the dif model years. Most likley a half azz motor swap.

Factory MEGA fuse for one. Strictly 97/98 for 5fours. He has a 99. TB elbows and vac routing changed in 99, he has both systems. Also has the pass side PCV line pulled to the drivers side. That didn't occur until gen 11 lol.

Has a mess there.

The Mini was a good one for your kid back then. It was given to me as well...or partial trade. Upgraded to a Superdrive and ripped DVD'S with it. Couldn't do Blu-ray tho. Blu-ray movies use advanced DRM protection and compression encoding methods that require specific software decryption keys and codecs to read. No software for that yet back then ..Blu-ray was still fairly new. All changed now of course lol.

Hope you got more use out of it and the Macbook as well.

I messed with it in and got it to boot. I tried to update it, and it wanted nothing to do with a newer OS. I'll get it back up and running... and if the OpenCore can't help, I might throw Linux Mint on it.

My daughter keeps telling me that her editing software is only made for Linux or Chromebook. So I need to make her a box of some sort.
