Also need to decide if I am going to go oxford white, black, or dark gray in the engine bay.

Geez.... when I start thinking about this, I've got a lot to do still, lol.
I will say I used duplicolor self etching primer and their matching engine paint....the paint chipped off on the oil pan, and valve covers however on the cast iron manifold it stuck really well. (Pan and covers were aluminum)

That's why I looked into Eastwood paints. My buddy used it on his dentside and bronco and it seems to hold up pretty good. They have a 2k aerosol paint and quart Option (brush on or sprayable)

Hey, White, are you going to fill holes and hide wiring when you do this? I've seen some engine bay smoothing jobs that just about made me drool. As for color, I'd probably vote to match the car. Satin black is great for classics and muscle cars, but just doesn't seem right to me on late-model stuff.

2100 - I added a product review and info link in my reply above. Itooks to be more boat-related, but still interesting.

This is going to sound weird.... but, no, I am not going to smooth out holes. I agree, it looks really good on a Fox. I am going for the "as close to stock" look as possible. My upper intake kind of messes that up, but whatever.

Thanks to both of you, I'll check out Eastwood!

Woah there grandpa, don't think your Colorado needs the extra downforce LOL also man they just look ugly. Look how high the bedside is in relation to the cab (ok on second look the topper is adding some height but still ugly)

One of my main concerns, which I should have stated, is all of the EPA mandated paint formulation changes that have been made over the last decade or so. I didn't know if any of the engine paints had been tinkered with as well.

I don't let a lot of people get under my skin.... but people that constantly play devils advocate "just because" really **** me off. So yeah, that dude really eats at me. I have a really good friend that lives in Australia now.... and growing up, he had an answer for everything. He gained the nickname "O.F." from a bunch of us friends, which meant "Opposing Factor".

That's a valid point on the formulation changes, White. It would be interesting to see a direct comparison of old and new with regard to application, durability, and longevity. I'm sure someone has done it.

As for BB and his peers, I'll sometimes chime in for the benefit (hopefully) of the OP, but will only go so far trying to justify my case. At some point, it's just not worth the effort. "O. F." Funny!

Spoilers on truck beds are just....

This is a pretty good deal on XL-12 - his description is for Mercon LV, but I did confirm with the seller that he posted the wrong description. It's for XL-12.
