Also current temp is -12 feels like -38!
The husky and I don't mind it at all lol. He's been running around all morning having a blast.
What a time for furnace problems, - Kids furnace went out about a week and half ago, sub zero during the night. The board went out and wasn't supplying enough juice to the igniter, couldn't find a board, -finally prevailed. Temp by-passed the bad section in the board so they had heat while locating a replacement board. Replaced the board and igniter (old igniter was just a barely out of range, also had white spot, but worked. Changed it out regardless). Up and running again. Last night the inducer motor/draft motor locked up...no heat once again, furnace locked out. This was all perfectly timed wouldn't you say lol. It was after closing, also it was already 29* in the basement when I got there. I have a furnace in storage, didn't really want to start robbing parts from it, but was a necessity last night. If the pipes froze in her house....well, just another reason to get that furnace up and running pronto. Of course, my set-up was different, but was able to get it to work and seal. Tested for carbon monoxide, good, up and running.
They are currently picking up the correct motor and hardware meant for their furnace. But man, a couple close calls, at the worst time possible.
I set up supplemental heat upstairs the first time it went down. I store the travel trailer out there and had a Mr heater propane heater inside and a couple back-up space heaters, left over from last winters adventure. The trailer main door and storage compartment doors were frozen, all the door locks as well. Once the locks were thawed, had to thaw the door too lol. So, robbed those, a couple more detectors 40 lbs of propane. Once fired up, and ceiling fans set to low, it kept the upper level at 70*. Didn't help the temps in basement though and all I had left was a couple torpedo heaters...also propane. Didn't want to resort to that. So yea, what a PITA.
Guess I better get going, it's a 45 min drive...not fun.

Our master bath toilet freezes anytime the temps get in the single digits or negative. Only thing I can think of is the pipes run down an exterior wall that gets hit with the wind the most. Never had burst tho! Wish I could put some insulation around the pipe, it's the only one that will freeze like that. Well except for last year when we had a week of sub zero temps, all the toilets froze for most of a day... finally got them thawed out with no burst pipes luckily... kept water running after that lol. But yeah pain in the butt our master freezes so easily. Can't really keep that water running well I could keep the pump running, but that would be a ton of water running
The lines to our washer and laundry sink would freeze up with long cold spells. When I installed cabinets above, I opened up the wall, added pipe insulation, and haven't had a problem since.
