I'm thinking about moving to North Carolina. Anyone have experience in that part of the country? I've been all over the west, but not further east than east Texas, Louisiana border.

We damn. We had a break in the weather today, so I got to finish the rear end on the truck. I still have an e'brake cable to put on tomorrow, but I at least got everything else buttoned up under there. I still have the exhaust to add tomorrow, but that should go easy considering everything else is already removed.

Drillrig.....what did you lose in NC? lol. Just wondering why a western guy would go so far East and South. Are you looking for a Southern Belle or just a complete change in your world? Good luck on what you decide.

NC isn't on my list of places to go, because of McCory's (sic) policies. I had tickets to the Charlotte AllStar race for NASCAR, but changed my plans and when to Sonoma CA instead a month later. Their loss, not mine.

Lol! I have a pretty tempting job offer there. My choices are Denver CO, Columbus OH, and Raleigh NC. The cost of living seems to be pretty good and it looks like a beautiful place to live. Not AK beautiful, but better than this NM desert.

Also, yes on the complete change in my world. I've been at the same job in the same environment for almost 10 years and I'm feeling a bit bored. The difficult part will be basically uprooting everything I've built this far. Gotta sell my house, pack the wife and baby in and find a new place to live in a relative short amount of time. Lots to do but I think it'll be worth it.

Sitting here wondering if NC is another damn blue state....

Lol, I was looking in YouTube at videos of Columbus, and every other one was of some gang shooting. And they use salt on the roads right?

There are bad spots in Columbus, about like anywhere- and yes, they use salt or a salt brine solution in winter.( and winter can be crappy around here)- Columbus seems to have a good job market- a lot of construction- OSU, hospitals, housing,etc.- but i think you could find the same thing around Raleigh, and the surrounding cities.- If Chillicothe wasnt home, and i didnt have a great job here, NC would be great.

Yes they use salt quite a bit all over Ohio. Ohio is considered to be in the "rust belt".
