My sentiments, exactly! (But the price does raise an eyebrow.)

Happy Friday, everyone! Hope it allows for smooth sailing into the weekend My front axle shafts arrived yesterday so I have *that* job to look forward to tomorrow.

Hope it flows smoothly for all of you as well. I took the day off to work on the truck. I figured out why and where it leaks.....

Welp.... it's done. Decided to let the project sit before I reassemble the interior. I am going to re-do or repair the headliner before I put it back together. I cleaned it up with acetone and alcohol, then primed the metal. Years ago (1994) I was a delivery driver for PPG, LOF, and Carlite windshields. I used to watch the installers, and this is where I got the idea for the primer. It seals any scratches made removing the glass, and also promotes adhesion. I had absolutely ZERO rust anywhere near the window. Pretty happy about that! Also had no mold anywhere either.

Go Hoss!

Looks great White. I would have never thought about the primer.

Looking good Whitey. I have a question on the bottom picture. Is the upper frame cracked by the slider? It looks out of place in the picture.

There is a crack that I fixed.... I hope. If not, I can get to it from inside the truck to seal it off. I also went to Joann's and got headliner material for about 13 bucks. It is darker than the original but I really like it. A lot. I also tucked the material around the ends in hope that it will stay attached better.

Don't know what the headliner looked like before, but it sure looks good now!

Looks/sounds like you did a nice job on the window, too. I put the solid rear from my '99 in this truck when one of the panes in the original slider shattered while driving up the road. Every once in a great while I miss the three-piece window, but have grown to like the look (and security) of the solid one again.

It was dirty, and peeling by the sun visors. I pulled it for the rear window..... so I figured I might as well fix it while it's out. I need to go buy some of that for my Mustang now, because it's dirty too. It's not falling yet, but it creates dust when you touch it, lol.

Good job white, yea there's been a few rear window leaks in the past on forums/sites with these models. Not sure how the 98 avoided that one...knock on wood lol. Well it has thus far anyway...I think ? I'm not even going look back there, seems like everything I inspect on that truck could use some TLC, that alone could open a can of worms. I think it's infested lately lol.

A few years ago I steam cleaned and re-stuck the headline material with 3M. Great stuff, this was more like a quick temp fix that turned out rather well. Looks like new and the material is still holding tight. I don't know how I got away without cracking mine, but was fortunate there. Yea, it was quick and I wasn't gentle. New material is the way to go vs cleaning most likley. I own a cleaner and it was right there soooo, gave that a shot lol.

I took the starter home last night, a long with battery cable harness. Figured I could prep all that stuff at the house for final install of headers, quick change Y, intermediate pipe and Borla system. Glad all that is about over with. That was a time consumer. Ran into a little problem with SS header bolts. The pre-applied thread locker was bad making it very difficult to impossible to achieve proper torque. I had to remove the bolts one at a time, flush the thread chamber AGAIN, clean that crap off the bolts and apply better stuff. Everything went smooth after that. Stole some time from me, chamber threads were fine just loaded up with spoiled locker lol. Something to avoid if you go with SS hardware on your manifold fix...cleaning those chambers with the header in place is lots of fun....yea good times for sure....NOT!

Your doing some good work white...as usual.

Thanks Brew! I appreciate that a lot.

Days like today I feel like I missed out on my calling in life. I kept thinking all day about how much I miss doing hands-on mechanical work.I really think that is a large portion of why I got this bee up my butt about the 351 project. I like to watch how things work... or figure out how they are supposed to work - then fix it. I still get called to look at mechanical things at work when my co-workers can't figure it out.... but it's not quite the same when you're jumping in after some others have already messed with it, lol.

I'm sure you know what I mean.
