In one of the videos after the report you linked, a reporter said to not breath in the smoke from the landfill fire. This seems like something that should not have to be said, yet .. Um... I guess it did need to be said, but who thinks "Awesome dude, lets go smell the trash fire" ? How much pot did they do?
After over two weeks of rain and clouds and clouds and rain (seriously, we got 14" of rain in 14 days) the next week will be great. No fires here. a few floods but no fire.

The FOX13 report said it's in an area that they put construction waste. They thought maybe some batteries or electronics may have ignited it.... and I believe that possibility is why they said not to breathe it in. ABC4 and KUTV usually have spotty reporting. KSL and FOX13 are usually a little more thorough. I think they got all the way extinguished now.
There have been a lot of fires lately, yes. We hit 107 degrees the other day... new record. It's not even July yet.
Fire inspectors think they are being set?
I know that several times last year there were places where haters of a certain political persuasion were setting fires on purpose. I sure hope these fires are not being set on purpose.
