Last night my friend asked me "why don't we just use a tow rope then?". I told him there was a lack of power brakes there, and I didn't want to pull it 250 miles with no power brakes..... and if it starts, that sumbitch is going under its own power.

Yep when you have it pulled up all the way, you press the button on the left, but you also have to press the "hidden" button on the right side. That lets it slide up past it's last stop. See pics for the buttons (it's blurry but I needed the flash on so you could see the button)

Really, that's good to know, must be newer. The only two uhaul had is the Silver and the Orange. I know the Silver can haul more than the Orange, by a few 100 lbs. Curb weight was like 56 or 5700 lbs for their silver trailers. The largest truck I've seen on the Silver was an old 80's Bronco...full size Bronc.

I'm really interested in this, - I mean IF Uhaul has a trailer for a full size truck. Knowing the option exists anyway lol.
___________

If the BIL's trailer is long enough, yes. There's some more factors if he uses a construction trailer..main one is weight. Hell it could be a heavy Eager Beaver, twice what you need. Then yea, you would need his truck as well.

That is exactly what UHaul told me on using a 1/2 ton with their trailers. I went to another UHaul and asked what they had to pull a side by side. They showed me a small trailer and also the regular one. I took the reg trailer and used it to pull a 65 Mustang up to my buddies for his daughter. Pulled fine, but I won't do that again with a 4.6. My blue 4.6 pulling my boat was laboring on our long hills. When I hooked Red up to the same boat, my only problem was braking. Power wasn't a problem, stopping that heavy sob was large though. Now with the brake upgrade, I'm positive that braking won't be an issue anymore. Red stops on a dime now, and even tries to give change. lol

Lol, nothing wrong with that. Wish they would of showed it loaded. From what I could see, it barley fit. But yea, other than that vid, all I've seen is a full size Bronco on a uhaul T.

Why doesn't white do what you did ? Can't find a trailer I expect. How difficult was it for you to locate that trailer ? That's right, the BIL idea came before he checked it out I imagine.

I had my own trailer years ago, heaviest I had was 9000 on it. I did pull that load with the 150. Actually these old trucks are rated for over 12000 lbs BUT, you have to pull with a weight distribution hitch and full brakes of course. The trick is payload, but you can manipulate payload fairly easy IF your trailer is long enough.

Yeah I would've liked to see it all the way on and a side shot. Yeah I'm surprised it fit and that's why I'm thinking it's a reg cab short bed. I'm almost positive my reg cab long bed was WAY to long for uhaul. Also interestingly my tire width was too wide as well (nothing crazy on the truck at the moment). Wondering how that managed on? Idk lol but give some rednecks a truck and some spare time and they'll make it work lol

I reckon you're right, I think the BIL idea came before he found a trailer. I was having a bad day of google-fu but i took a break and when I came back, I found a shop and my dad found a place for me too. I'd bet there's something in SLC that would have a trailer for rent.

I like lil Red, so I don't need another truck. In fact I need to get rid of one of the vehicles. I guess I'll just keep Red and not worry about another pretty face. lol
there is a couple of nice older trucks in the totm this month- and another stick shift!

Sweet.... My BIL is letting me borrow his Duramax with a 22 foot two axle tilt bed trailer. It has a pintle hitch...

This puts my mind at ease.
