Just had a damn UPS take a crap at work... interwebs went down and everyone went bonkers, lol. I gotta get some batteries and a fan for this thing before I can take off today, which I was aiming at leaving early... Batteries Plus doesn't open for 30 minutes though.

Think they are dead? Lol....
Yeah, thems don't looks so good.

If you have an Interstate All-Battery nearby, you might want to check them out sometime. I worked for them here in the Springs awhile back. Good product, and good commercial pricing. They deliver, too.

What an eventful morning it has been.... and I hope the day does not continue on like this... had the UPS issue, generator issue, bad fuse coming into the building, no A/C, elevator quit working, and then a fire on a power pole to top it off.

At the moment ***fingers crossed*** all seems back to normal. I hope this isn't a sign of the rest of my day, towing vehicles. LOL.

Alright thinkers need your opinions. Used one of the coils Ohiolariat sent me. Swapped boot and spring. Plug was upside down but still plugged in. Low rpm misfire went away but it is slow to accelerate until I get above 3000rpms and then it's back to normal. Also here's a video, when I hit the rev limiter at idle you can here it stumbling. So overall still having issues on acceleration and high rpms in neutral but low rpm misfire went away.

Edit* ok ran it again, has a slight stumble upon acceleration in neutral

PS sorry for the upright video, dang iPhones lol

Waiting for a CEL to come back on since I unplugged the battery
Edit* still no CEL so shooting in the dark again. Original CEL was misfire on cylinder 5 and have replaced spark plug with motorcraft

Edit2* it looks like there was oil in the spark plug well at one time, it's clean but tinted like oil stained it and/or burnt on it. Again, it's currently dry but looks like oil once was there. Bad valve cover gasket or remnants from a valve cover replacement? No clue on engine history from previous owner but was one owner older gentleman who kept good care of it as it was his wife's DD

I remember our '01 didn't like to rev in neutral. (And your rev-limiter is functioning normally.) What does it do under driving/hard acceleration?

Yeah I couldn't remember if my wife's 05 acted like that but my 03 f150 doesn't bounce at all. I was more concerned the car shuttered while at the rev limiter. Hard acceleration from a stop, it's sluggish until I pass 3000rpms and then it takes off and accelerates normally

Don't worry about the rev limiter action. As I mentioned, it's completely normal, and exactly the way our '01 Escape acted. The drivability problem sounds like it could be a vacuum leak, perhaps?

There is a rev limiter. I can't see the video so I can't tell what is going on.... but on my Brothers 05 Escape, cylinder 5 had a random misfire that was a worn wire inside the loom. I ran a new external wire directly to the ECU and cured the problem.

Yeah I need to inspect the wires.

Ok good. And I'll check on the hoses. I know I've replaced to hoses on the intake that were dry rotted so there's a good chance others are too

Anyone know what this hose is? Looks like it was replaced with garden hose and is completely collapsed.

Also these 3 hoses are dry rotted too so I'll be running to the parts store to pick up some new ones
