Anybody have opinions on a good tool chest? My pockets don't run deep enough for a snap on lol.

Was looking at the Kobalt 2000 series and was really wanting blue but it is unavailable at the moment... started doing more research and apparently HF has a decent lineup, who knew? Anyway looking for a decent chest for a decent price

Also thanks guys for the congrats, it's our first so we are excited!

Here's where I got to today. Subfloor is fixed! Wasn't too bad. HF oscillating tool sucks but it did the job. Going to see if they will take it back as it is not worth a da*n. I knew that but needed this to be cheap (HA) project so figured if they take it back awesome, if not I'm only out $20. Definitely will be looking into a better oscillating tool for the future

Some of the crap you run into owning a home...... The guy that owned my previous home before I did was the master of jerry-rigging. I noticed some wet sheetrock in the bathroom, so I investigated. Wound up tearing the whole wall down because I found this. If you look carefully, you will notice that said jackass put plumbers putty on some cracks, and put the wall back together.

One day the washer, which was on the other side from the downstairs bathroom, started leaking into the bathroom vanity. I found this hot mess.... he had sanded the piece of PVC to fit into the ABS housing, and rubber cemented it in. I'll give him one thing... it held.... for a while, lol.

It could have been worse- he could have used duct tape! 🙃
my house is over 100 yrs old- you cant imagine some of the jury- rigged stuff ive found- but to be fair, you have to be creative to adapt old and new technologies at times- ( which is why i now have modern electric, plumbing and hvac!)

My new (to me) house just turned 20 years old, so I am getting a whole chain of neat stuff. I'm thankful I've got the home warranty. If it's over 65 dollars, I call them - but anything small, I just do myself. I doubted they would have done anything with the toilets, because they just flushed with very little power.... no leaks or anything. So, I bought those myself. So far though, they have replaced the main board in the furnace, replaced the water heater, and put in a new disposal. I've got my 420 dollars back.

I'd take a 20 year old MAC chest over pretty much anything, but yea, -HF and US General, best bang for the buck. There use to be a site called Garage Journal (not sure if it's still around), - good info about boxes there, -comparisons. If you have a Menards store
close by, they carry good boxes as well.
