Thinking
Most of the Voip stuff I deal with is business class. I can't give you a recommendation on that one but I would suggest finding out if your ISP's router supports QoS (Quality of Service) and have at least a minimum network connection of 10 Mb/s. Dedicate at least 20% to the voip phone if you use a phone a lot.
One thing to keep in mind is that VoiP can have a noticeable latency when talking to other people, particularly if your internet connection doesn't support QoS. Another factor is bandwidth usage at the time of the call and what kind of service you are getting.
Just a quick summary which may not make any difference to you.

Good call on checking with the QoS. The service I have now is also 40 megabit DSL, same provider. BUT, to achieve the 40 megabit at the new house, they are pairing to lines together... which is called bonded DSL. It sounds like you may already be aware of that service though, lol. They are giving me a new router for it, so I'd better scope that out too. After seeing that I have purchased (not rented) my last 3 routers, Century Link just decided to give me a new router for the bonded.
The QoS on regular DSL modem is good, but I need to look at bonded DSL and see if it's any different.
EDIT: Found the QoS on the Actiontec Q2000

Well damn. I guess the information did make it to Michigan. ROFL.
You have a point, I guess. Money. Always the reason we do or don't do something. We should of been born with a silver spoon. My luck, it would of been stuck in the wrong end. lol

I thought Alaskans must be slow learners..but I would never say that. lol
LOL.... you two.
I could tell stories of Utah drivers, and their inabilities to use turn signals.... that is some slow learning. I used to have road rage tendencies when I'd get cut off. I had a test at that today, and I passed. LOL
