Oh I forgot. I got that alternator in that I bought off eBay. It was suppose to be 200 amps, but was only 190. It is the correct mount for the 5.4, so that will be another project to do later.

The number of it was 4W7Z-10346-AC 190 amp alternator. Rebuilt by Delco Remy. Not bad for $64 delivered to me with no core.

I'll sand it tomorrow and put on a full top coat. If I get more bugs, so be it. At least it is red.

I think that next spring, I'm going to go ahead and take my house on the lake back and move back there. It is the only way I'm going to have my garage back to work in. I hate to give up $1400 a month, but what the hell. It's only money. Ouch. lol.
You took some damn good pictures (big). I can blow them right up on a 24" monitor...clear as bell. Cottonwood season is over here, but it got real bad this year for some reason. You really need some kind of enclosure for painting outside. Harbor Freight has some cheap ones I'm probably going to use when the time comes. It just pisses you off when paint something without, it's like magnetic to bugs, they b-line for that nice finish.

But yea, better than white that's for sure.

I'm going to be without a garage for a few years...first time. Hope the withdrawals aren't too bad.

I have had a head hunter calling me for a couple months now, wanting me work at a different company - doing the same thing I am now, but less people/stress. I haven't really shown much interest to them, mostly because it wouldn't have been wise to change jobs in the middle of moving. However, I believe I will go listen to what they want to pay me.

Gotta do what's right for the fam damily.

Yep, I hear that. I've been psyching my wife up for a while to make this move. She's always hated me traveling so much for work. But this last year has shown her how a sacrifice in one area can vastly improve another. She finally gave me the go ahead last week. She still doesn't like it, but at lease now she understands why it's worth it.

I hated it, well just being away from the kids at the time. They worked you 33 days then gave you 4 days off. What helped was working dark to dark 7 days a week and the per-diem pay rate which just about doubled your pay vs. back home. The nice thing about it, I could always go back to my other employers back in MI. It was a sacrifice. The last project I was on was in Indiana. A 2 year Wind Turbine project. That one was a little fun lol.

Being away is tough, but I'll have 2 full weeks for activities when I get back. I'm going to give it a shot, I think it'll be worth it.

After my physical tmrw I'll be ready to work for them. He said I'll be headed to Minnesota, I've never been up that way in my life. What's the weather like this time of year? Humid hot? I know it's a cold bastard in the winter.
