Well, I think AK might be on to something with the fan clutch... here's a couple pictures from the Scangauge today that show speed, rpm etc. It was also 101 degrees outside today.

This was getting off the highway coasting down the off ramp. I was not using the AC to see how hot it would get.

This was a little bit of stop and go, mostly 45-50 mph with the AC on. You can see how the temps spiked.

As far as the fan clutch, I could hear it with the windows down, but it wasn't nearly as loud as it usually is leading me to believe that's part of the problem. I got the coolant temp to drop to 207 by turning off overdrive, bringing the RPMs up a little. However, once the trans temp hit 200 I couldn't get it to drop. I'm going to park the truck till she's fixed.

Drill----Yeah, I honestly think it is the radiator first and foremost, but those clutches can dump in a minute. 218 is a bit hot for my tastes. Sure the antifreeze makes the boiling point higher, but you said that you were using water, so I'm fairly sure that the boiling point is much closer to the 212 norm, than the 230 antifreeze can go to. Of course then you have to worry about the radiator seals leaking after those temps.

I think you're probably right, mix that with a 17 year old cooling system I think it could use an update. I got tired of messing around and ordered all the things I haven't yet replaced. The rad is the 2.25" dual core crossflow. And a couple other maintenance items for the other vehicles.

My friends... I have a new home! They accepted my offer, right at the last second. Here she is in the link below. I have an open house on mine tomorrow. I was downstairs a few minutes ago, and my daughter said I've got people all over in the yard... so I went out there, and it was people trying to get a sneak peek the night before. Third group today that was over here poking around, and one yesterday. This has been nuts!

Congratulations man! That is a very nice looking house. I'm so envious of the parking space. Also, the tile in the kitchen area looks identical to the tile in my house, it's really high quality stuff. The owners before me spent 17k on it.

It sure looked like some high dollar tile.... so that's good to know. I am really excited about all of the parking.... oh, and the heated garage.

I'm going to have two rooms to mud, paint, an carpet right out of the chute.

That's awesome white! I'm really digging the backyard and the "rv" parking. The people in my yard would freak me out a bit but you don't have to put up with it very long so it's all good. Happy for you bud.
