When I was searching earlier, I found a place that makes replacement parts for them. That was kinda cool! It's on my PC at work though.... don't remember what I searched, lol.
Even better if you can get parts as well. The old place is in Florida, you could get parts there , but you would have to call....they didn't advertise, The problem with the cap analyzers, first ones. was the copper tweezer ends would wear out. Proper name isn't tweezers..but you know what I mean. You could repair them yoursellf... Other than that, never had a problem with mine.
Been crawling around on the floor for the evening positioning the axle to get it in place. But it's in and bolted in place, still need the torque arm and driveshaft installed. Then I need to pick the best brake parts out of the mix of extra parts put them on and bleed the brakes. ↑ Got it balanced on the bike jack for maneuverability, I can go up and down, and all around. (Twss)
↑ Once I got the lower control arms, the shocks, and springs on, I added the jack stands to keep the axle from dropping too far and the springs falling out.
↑ Then I repositioned the bike jack to adj. the angle of the rear end to get the sway bar on.
↑ Just need to load the suspension and tighten everything up. It needs to be torqued at ride height not with the suspension hanging.
The original tweezer probes from the original CapAnalyzer were poorly made by Pomona. However, since 2010 EDS made our tweezer probes in-house using a much improved design. They are also designed to be repaired, not replaced. Intermittent readings are almost always a broken coax shield at the tweezer; simply snap the tweezer apart with a flat blade screwdriver and you can redo the connections. Reassemble using super glue or E6000. If the berillium copper tips are broken off, replace the tweezer assembly. The entire probe/cable assembly is usually available for $29 from various sources on the web. Some may still be available direct from EDS; email us.
I went to school with Henry's grandkids Jeremy and Heather.
Here in SLC, Alignment Specialists on 2100 South have always done good for me. They also did a helluva job on my Brother's M3.
EDIT: 4.5 stars on over 300 reviews
I saw Heather wear a dress for the first time in her life when her big sister got married
I forget her big sisters name
Saw Jeremy get chewed out by the GM for getting face piercings and coming to work like that was his new look

Jbrew and white89gt, what do you do for a living playing with caps like that?
Just a hobby?
What's that board? a PC?
I pulled the processor out of my 94 E150 and saw absolutely nothing wrong with the caps visually
Knew it was my problem
I replaced the processor, and it now runs great
Still wonder if my caps were shot but looked good
So, question.... wouldn't the leak tester be the better of the two to get? Seems like you'd be able to test in or out of circuit with it?
Isolated or out of circuit can be done w/mm really. It's slow, time consuming and harder on the components. PCB as well as most are layered and possibly be damaged. Some PCB's use a pads and fine trace paths that like to separate. That can get real time consuming...
