Glad he got a contract to do a show with the Discovery channel or whoever picked him up
He deserves it!
Damn, it must take you 30 minutes just to check a battery lol.
It takes at least an hour, unless the battery is really kaput... but 24 is better, to check one. Here, a DVM shines. Testing is a whole different deal, done after checking. Ideally you charge it first, so add another 24. It is a chance to check all your meters, though.
I really... really love this sub. Yesterday, I thought to myself "what if I had two?". So, I got back on Amazon, and thought "$4!t, I don't remember paying THAT much for it".
You really need at least two meters to do a parasitic draw test. I have at least two Hobo Frank meters that I use when I'm going out to a wrecking yard, etc. - someplace that I don't want to leave my Fluke or Klein's behind. My Extech is mostly used for car stuff only, and my Craftsman ends up being my most used in the house. Then of course, everyone needs an analog meter. I also have a Snap-On that Ron gave me - it's pretty big though. My OEM fuel test kit also has one in it.... it's still wrapped in plastic, LOL. If my math is right, that's 10.
Then I'd have the power company come out and look. It's probably on their end if a different service is also doing it too.
Last time I did they said everything looked fine on their side.

I was thinking that too. I really wasnt expecting to see that 130v pop up.

Thats exactly my plan. Fluke should be here soon.

I was waiting on the flue to get here but when it started fluctuating again I just picked up the closest meter to me I could get.

BUT 129 Vac is an issue none of this can explain. Definitely unplug costly sensitive things. Pwr was dirty in the old days, and many used an isolation transformer to kill spikes.
I am going to use a better meter as soon as it comes in and do some testing at the outdoor box and kill all power to the house with the main. I suspect the voltage is actually dropping lower than shown.

Yep, I was right.
I guess I'll try a bigger box first, LOL.
I think I paid 120 for a rockford box with that sub installed a couple of years ago. Paired it with a 250 RF amp that may have been a little too much power for it but really great response as long as I didnt get it into a muddy signal.
