Most Ford dealers have a decent alignment man
I did them at EKF in Layton for 11 years and Henry Day in West Valley for 11 more
I got my Master cert in 1998 and they had switched to the Utah Auto Collection, I took my new NGS and bailed to start my own shop
After a while, you can't help but to get good at it
Alignments are a specialty, not all dealers have qualified personnel, especially in Southern Utah
I go to an independent shop around here now for the alignments I need
I started out at Firestone in 1979 (the "set the toe and let er go" capitol of the alignment world)
Very few alignments left that place correct
I went to school with Henry's grandkids Jeremy and Heather.
Here in SLC, Alignment Specialists on 2100 South have always done good for me. They also did a helluva job on my Brother's M3.

I went to go get some ice out of the fridge last night. The damn keypad was turned off... and it wasn't cooling. If you recall, I just replaced the main board on it 5 weeks ago. I pulled the back panel back off, and see something black laying in the bottom of it. If you know, you know....
I can't decide if this thing was burnt, or just gave way - then got hot. The piece that came off does not appear to have been hot. But this makes me wonder.....
I bought a 3 year extended warranty through Asurion, When I contacted them, they said to contact Amazon since it had only been 5 weeks. Amazon is sending out a new board.... and said I can keep this one, I think I'll pull the caps out of it, and fix the original board tonight. Then just go from there.
Swap the Cap as well. Do you have a analyzer by chance. I don't like that JAKEC...pretty sure they were members of the Bad Caps club at one time. ...board members. Might want to check...if you know.
If the discoloration on top isn't cooked in and wipes off.....better. It looks like the vent-less version as well. Integrity LOOKS fine though...thus far.
Any of your mm's have a cap test port ? Some do...
BTW- If you're interested, they are making EDS-88A's again. Discontinued for quite awhile...they came out with a Series II. Those are dead on...any type.
EDIT: Crap! Didn't see your last couple of sentences there...you're already planning to check... my bad.
I'm currently on the phone with a supplier in SLC. They usually only sell Nichicon or Panasonic. He's checking stock on all four values/sizes. Unfortunately, it has a 33uf, which typically likes to be taller than the 25mm's it is on the board.
I really don't think that transistor was from anything other than a defective part. No burns on the board anywhere, just a chunk missing off the side.
I actually bought this feller when I fixed the main board on my daughters TV. It worked well for the price.
EDIT: Just as I suspected, the shortest 33uf he has is 35mm. I'm going to chance it.
Seven caps will be $8.76 - I can deal with that.
EDIT 2: I might make me a setup like I did on this several years ago. The pinout on the 24 to 5VDC converter was different, so I improvised. Not my best work, but it got us out of a bind at work.

Looks like it popped from a surge. It would, if undamaged internally, then overheat. Lil regulator? "C'mon guys, I know you can make them cheaper!" Would not be surprised if the cap was likewise, a tad undersized. (Possible hint, there.)
