Thanks it's nice. They're just big everywhere compared to the gen 10's. Although it doesn't have every available portion, the Lariat had the black dash lay-ot and dark leather I liked. Also wanted the 3.73 locking rear end vs slip. Difficult to find in the F250, 350 was no problem.

After having two trucks with the locking rear end I am almost sure I like a fresh LS better when any kind of turning is needed.

I'll have to figure that out yet. The locker is suppose to disengage at 20 mph and work as a LS. Hard to tell if that was happening or not.

Glad that was brought up. I'll confirm LS in the day light, next time it gets slimy out.

White: Did you ever post beam-pattern pics of those LED bulbs you installed awhile back?

All I know is that the 1 ton and the taller frame cross section, to carry said weight. This doesn't explain the extra underseat room, unless, it's desirable to raise the seat in order to see over the hood...? Or, so Lariat drives can look down on us, even more, LOL!
Well, it's getting late in life to fix an old 7700 up to my present '01's state if well being. I need lights, shocks, and paint or wrap. A half ton, almost like a car with a bigger trunk. 😏

Hmmm I was not aware that was possible. I know at low speed when unlocked whatever wheel spins easiest just keeps spinning. Maybe the heavier duty 1 ton rear end has a different locker. I know the front hub locking mechanism is different from the 150s

I don't have a pic of the seat folded open, but you can sort of see that there's room under them. Referring to the rear seats. You can blow this pic up if on a DT., -

Yea, there's plastic trays under them all the way across. Some room behind as well, that's where the jack is on this side. And some huge audio system amplifier...Sony I think.

A pick of one from google, -

Yes at low speed in 4wd high, remains engaged indefinitely while in low range until switched off.

The locking hubs I misunderstood I guess...at first anyway. Think I got it now. 4WD will not function with hubs selected to Auto and with shift on the fly set up at any speed. Hubs have to be locked. Their explanation of it sucks and difficult to understand. More less have to figure it out for yourself. Not sure why they call it Auto at all.

Those are the only choices at the hubs up front....Auto and Lock. Auto must mean Free I take it...like the old days. Lock = 4WD.

Last edited by Jbrew; Dec 6, 2023 at 10:06 PM. Reason: what does AUTO mean exactly?

7700 doesn't sound that far off....If it's solid enough to wrap anyway. That would be easy.

From what lil I can find, the 7700 was the name given to the 250 LD/light duty, after being renamed from 150HD/heavy duty. The taller frame criss section is all I can learn. No issue since they are so rare. I saw one for sale, but it lost a lot of the 6 1/2 ft bed being dual-fuel, eaten up by the CNG tank. I WANT my 6 1/2 ft minimum. Heck, everything is a compromise.

The half ton F150 is just a tad borderline, for a pickup, (except a showhorse.) Few campers are light enough for it, legally. A cu yd of compost can exceed 3/4 ton. It's all a reason that I might give up stiff-walled 10 ply rating and go with a a softer walked cushier tire, (as long as it has some steel on the road so it goes straight.) It will always be a lightweight, regardless of the tires.
