The locking hubs I misunderstood I guess...at first anyway. Think I got it now. 4WD will not function with hubs selected to Auto and with shift on the fly set up at any speed. Hubs have to be locked. Their explanation of it sucks and difficult to understand. More less have to figure it out for yourself. Not sure why they call it Auto at all.

Those are the only choices at the hubs up front....Auto and Lock. Auto must mean Free I take it...like the old days. Lock = 4WD.
That's where I was at a loss with the front axle hubs. I dont understand the auto label. Do they actually lock in when the switch is flipped in the cab or when the rear wheels spin? Free and lock make so much more sense like on the old locking hubs.

so all auto means is they rely on the vacuum system to lock the hubs in when the range switch is to any 4wd selection. Lock just over rides that and locks them in in case the vacuum system fails

Rough night.... for me. I hate hospital sleeping.

Still no idea what is causing this. Did another EKG in the night that was normal. But she is still having extreme chest pain. The reason they moved us was because the hospital by our home can't do an angiogram.

IHC is who owns this hospital, and they bought some land by home to build a new hospital, but not even close to breaking ground yet... so 80 miles we came. Their 2 main hospitals were full of flu patients, so that's why we're here. This is a very nicely equipped facility though.

On the subject of 3.73's, I sure wish mine had them instead of 3.55's. I have a set of rear 3.73's with an LSD that I bought for it. I just need to locate a matching front.

So why can't they just say that in the manual. I haven't read nothing like that yet.

I'm pretty sure that's how my Buddy's 99 Super Duty hubs worked too. It's a very unique design at the time. He figured it out through trial and error too.

Wish I woulda bought that truck from him. He bought it brand new.

They call that something...IWE maybe ? Something like that. I'm not sure the 13-16's have that.

Absolutely no 4WD in auto...tried it every which way. I was stuck until I locked them in.
