But I do plan to rig mine for optional daylight driver's lights. Lower the wattage. (Even a hair lower V lets costly bulbs last way longer. It's science and non-linear.)
This is the DRL kit I have on my truck. With LED turn-signal bulbs, they're darned bright.

I wired them so they're on when the lights are in automatic mode, and off with the switch in "off."

I haven't even opened the set yet. Been doing this 4R100 today. Found the guys issue. He must've been in there pissing around with it. Found a valve in there backwards.

EDIT: Brew, did you also do the pump portion of the tugger kit?

Whoever was into this 4R100 previously installed this backwards. They had the spring up against the keeper, and the valve against the body. Also had burned up clutches, as well as some pitting.

Also put a brand new solenoid block on it.

That makes a lot of sense. Cell phones have probably been amazing for the car repair business.

Brewster... yep, all covid free. My 14 year old is about over her sinus infection too. Ron is sick now, lol... so I've been surrounded by sick people for about 2.5 weeks straight.

As far as I went here, -

Replace all the alumunium pistons, plungers and springs (at least that's what I was calling them) For steel pistons. The Aluminum stuff had a lot of wear. Upgraded that stuff.

That's as far as I went with it...what's on the table there. Cleaned up and back together.

Wish I could blow those pics up more, I might remember more...18-19 years ago lol.

BTW- Never pulled the trans...didn't go that far.

Time to replace the headlights. The clear coat began disintegrating sometime last year, and this summer's sun did it in for good. This pic is from earlier this evening, 5 MPH, and low beams. I knew they weren't great, but holy beam-scatter, Batman!

I'll install the new set, then try my hand at cleanimg/sanding/clear-coating these. If they turn out well, into the attic they'll go as spares.

Actually, that alternator is in the truck. The one I rebuilt with the upgraded stator blew the V-regulator (I think) a couple of months ago, and developed some end-to-end play in the shaft.

Coincidence, looking at mine too, though it's fine. '01/5.4. OReillys has a 200A, not brushless but new & limited lifetime! Have read there was a way to add a 2nd alternator... probably a police setup.
