I'd been saying that I should lose 15 pounds for a long time, but talking about it wasn't making it happen. I got on the scale last week, and that 15 is now 20, and that was the trigger. (It spun up to 200.1.) Friday AM I got on the elliptical, today I walked about 2 miles w/ Duncan, and tomorrow will be a ride on the new-to-me WaterRower (which I picked up at the Goodwill for only $65!).
I'll continue to eat through the junk food and desserts I have here, but in much more moderation. I've also been cooking more instead of pulling something out if the freezer. Today was an omelet and hash browns for brunch, and a salad for dinner with some cashews as a snack in between. (I made "Everything Bagel Cashews. OMG are they good!)
Little diet changes and structured exercise should help with fatigue, stress, and let me get back down to 180.
Cooked up some chicken through air fry earlier, came out great. Marinated for 5 hrs before hand. Then crispy potato chunks in the frying pan. Attempted garlic green beans in the oven...that needs work.
Think I may be checking back in later today, kidneys just won't come back..getting worse. Feel fine and haven't gained any weight since I've been home. Not retaining water again that I know of. See what happens I guess. Haven't had kidney problems in the past..hope it's temporary.
Jbrew,
About 5 years ago I thought I was too fat. I couldn't keep up with anyone. I began to seriously wonder if I would be around for my grandkids big life stuff. So I began eating better. And exercise.
Hard to make that change at first. Junk food is just so easy and quick.
It took a while but between eating better and working out some (nothing huge), I became a better person. I am able to (mostly) keep up with my kids in their late teens and 20s.
Now I can hike up (east coast) mountains carrying around 35 lbs ruck.
I learned how to make healthy food tasty. I learned what spices to use in my food. I even carry a favorite hot sauce and spices in my trucks so I can make bland restaurant food better.
In 2018 I was at a daughters wedding.I had to get a new suit for it as my older ones didn't fit.
Afterwords I saw the pics and wondered who that fatass was in those pics.
I looked at that pic and one from my recruit training graduation and cried at how bad I had become.
I couldn't run, walking hurt, I got winded by anything more than walking.
It took 2 years of working before my garmin watch said I was as fit as my age.
Now it says I'm as fit as a 48 year old and I'll be 59 in a couple months.
I can run,I can hike, I can chase my grandkids. I am a better person and I know I'll never go back to those bad habits.
You can get through today, tomorrow, the month, the years , and be better every day.
My needs and yours may be different, but we both need to make personal changes to get better.
It's hard to change at first but they get easier.
My journey was worth it, I hope yours can be fulfilled. It will be worth it.
Thanks for sharing that noobs..
That's a story I hope I get the opportunity to share about myself for someone in need some day. Definitely going to try.

Brew, you dont strike me as the kind of guy that fails very often if ever when you decide to make something happen. I think you will be just fine and you have already take that first step so good luck my friend.
My daughter just turned 5 months old on the 28th and i have been seriously considering my overall health as well. So now when she does tummy time I'm doing push ups and planks. I figure if she can put in the work i can at least try. Im 6'2" and 225 ish lbs right now and i think 205 is where i need to be to feel good again. Cheers to positive changes yall!
Great Pic LOL. She looks very happy. ....dang jp, you did that? Nice job.. My youngest Grandson is just over a year now..oldest is 13. 4 all together...what a variety of crazy kids, in the prime of all that fun stuff. Wasn't home enough for my girls way back when, worked some crazy long hours....missed a lot.
I have a chance to go fairly long, I haven't asked the question yet because they won't be able to answer it until the 14th of this month,,after the stress test. But, in general, about half of all people diagnosed with congestive heart failure will survive 5 years. About 30% will survive for 10 years. In patients who receive a heart transplant, about 21% of patients are alive 20 years later.
Guess I'm staying here, they're adjusting my medication that I have been talking since my release.. Lassics...they'll provide more assistance to the kidneys now I guess. That's exactly what mama said they were going to do...should of known.
Holy crap, I'm out of shape! Only eight minutes on the rower, and I was feeling it. I was also feeling a cramp coming on in my thigh, so I thought it prudent to stop.
I put my pull-up bar back up in the laundry room doorway this morning, too. The rule is, every time I exit the room (several times per day), I have to do a "comfortable" number of reps.
Not overdoing things will be the key to being able to continue.

My Dad used to watch Gunsmoke and Wild Wild West when I was a kid.... and what he was a kid too, lol.
Went over today and put a new carb on Ron's lawn mower. Sum8!tc4 started on the first pull. Wasn't expecting that! Also decided to start in on the little change I want to make on The Eight Nine. I took these off of Frankie and put my aftermarket set on. I painted the silver with the Seymour Alumi-Blast, and the black is Rustoleum. Kinda thinking I may put a Satin clear on the black after a couple days.
