I wouldn't say all...XL12 in the trans was voodoo or different, never would of thought of that myself. That was all TCCOA. Didn't realize how much better Amsoil was for the trans back then either.
I meant everything you're talking about - automatic transmissions in general. A valve body isn't an engineering marvel... it's one of the many tools of THE DEBBIL.
Wondered if you were going to notice that. We talked about that in the past once before. Tomco was the only supplier. Anyway yep, it enclosed the last aluminum DPFE in existence lol. Well, I don't know if it was the last, it was definitely hard to find and I believe they said there were very few left...like 3 or something. That was back in 06. That's still working fine as well.
I actually have a brand new one, however it's in a Ford box. Definitely hard to find!!
We went up again today.... yes, that water is rushing in! I can't believe it. This reservoir was dangerously low in August.
- The fishing trail is under water in a lot of places, including the brush and shrub along the side.
A year ago we were fishing from the "island" there in the middle with all of the trees.
EDIT: This is what everyone calls "The Island", which is now under water.
EDIT3: Fishing from said island back in 2018.... only posting because this is one of my favorite pics I've ever taken.

Looks like the island in that pic went under water very recently. You can see how much more water is in there comparing the brush lines in both pics.... bank on the other side.
Found a few more of my pics on google, documented most of it, should be more. I use to take a lot pictures...way back when, -
That was the plate ^^^ I had to refab after my mistake. Just the 3 shift pressure holes were drilled a little too large. 2 or 3 different size drill bits came with the kit. Should of started out with the smallest first but chose to go with the crowd, went with the next size up. Thinking my chances were better getting it right the first time. DENIED, had to drain it, take it apart again and make a new plate. Was a drag for sure.
It was shifting much to hard the way it was. Didn't want to drive it that way.
The 98's have drain plugs on both the pan and converter. It wasn't too bad. Had a valve set up , drained it back into quart bottles. Discarded the last two quarts as they were contaminated, with either old clutch material or dirt....probably both. Quart bottles were clear, the contamination would separate. Could see this clear as day with a background light.
I forgot to add that we are also doing a separator plate reinforcement kit to this, which is made by Sonnax. Weird thing is, this actually was part of the AOD, but dropped in the 4R70/75's.
