No snow here (except some still left melting on the ground). My sister and nephew are visiting and we took a drive through Eleven Mile Canyon this afternoon. I took the opportunity to snap this pic while nephew was getting some drone shots (which are amazing!).

Success! Opened the drive, it was the spindle that was stuck. Didn't take much, had my doubts, but it fired up. Everything copied, drive is still working lol. So happy
Yea the spindle had a phillips head which was convenient. Although I was gloved up and static free I didn't have to touch anything in there. Came loose by just inserting the screwdriver. Wasn't that stuck.
I read freezing works sometimes. However drives fail in so many different ways your chances aren't the greatest. You also run the risk of cracking the read head when you freeze it.
Supposedly a freezer bag will protect it from condensation.
The drive was clean inside. No signs of intrusion or corrosion of any kind.

Got Lucky!
Maybe if you paint it with a red/black/gray color scheme it will work better...
I went offroading with a local club again yesterday and kept pace with the "real offroaders" just fine. Two of them were forced to admit that they were impressed by the capability of my old Ford.
