Wolvee, question. - Your tuner is 3 canned correct...economy, towing and performance. So when you set up tire size for mph adjustment, it also calibrates trans tables and shift points at the same time for the rubber you're running correct ? You mentioned it runs better with the tune, so it must be doing more than correcting the speedo. It use to be you would have to pay to have the canned tunes custom tuned and perhaps data log and go through all that. Just curious how far they have come with tuners today.

For me, the car I should have never sold is the Nova. I sold my last Nova for my old '96 mustang and now, even though I have my crazy fancy & expensive shelby sitting in the garage, I'm still thinking about "that Nova I should have never sold". I don't know how much my memory is clouded by rose colored glasses and that's my biggest restraint. I have wondered what kind of Nova I could build now being more mature with a real big boy budget. I want to start with a perfectly Mint 396/427 SS car with Air.

The SCT X4 did have multiple tunes but I left it on 93 octane since it takes so long to swap tunes. With the X4 you have to use a Computer to download your tunes that are either the canned tunes or the custom tunes. That's when you select what you're going to download to your device. I never bothered swapping tunes but it did have 3 options. I chose 93 Octane and I'm sure one of them was towing. I can't remember the third. I'm waiting for the SCT Livewire to come back from back order but it is ordered. The livewire has updates on the fly over WiFi so you don't need a PC anymore. Yes it does calibrate trans but I don't know how much control it actually has. I can only say with fact that in my trucks case, I could feel a difference. It's also able to control things like Idle, decay rate, timing through the entire RPM (of course), raise the RPM tons of things to name a few. The livewire is supposed to be able to do a lot of that stuff from the device without the need of the ProTune software. it should give a bit more basic features to the end user without the need of a paying for a custom tune. They did take out the ability to delete emissions sensors. No more turning off sensors and CEL for cat or egr deletes

Excellent! Thanks for that explanation...very clear. I bet livewire has been much improved by now.

I just re-read what I wrote. I'm sorry. I need to stop replying when I'm tired.

Got a fully-legit, working license for MSOffice again.

Still gotta fix this damned keyboard.

LOL, guess it's fortunate for me your not selling life insurance, I'd have yet another policy that does me no good haha.
