Doubtful in your scenario.

FWIW, I always tighten the filter on my truck with the oil filter socket. I can't fit my hand in there well enough to generate a decent grip.

Right !

So we're on the same page !

I did that as well.
(Tightened the oil filter with socket)
I agree, Same here for generating a decent grip in that area.

Question is, how far did you go with tightening your oil filter?

I'm thinking you went around 2 revolutions max past "hand tight" with that wrench ?

There's a point in that process where u know it's tight.
I didn't go to the extreme ends for tightness where the oil filter could not stop turning at all....

But mine is wayyy past "hand tight".

I don't ever count the turns. For my truck, I just use my stubby ratchet and make it snug. It's all by feel for me... lol. I maintain 6 vehicles, so I've just developed a "yep, good".

It's certainly not 2 full turns though... if I had to guess, I'd say ¹/² to ³/⁴ turn.

EDIT; Forgot to mention, right here in my little city, we already had three fires tonight. The state is going to regret allowing the sale of fireworks in the driest year.

There've been nine seasons so far, Brew. (Season 10 is up in the air, I guess.) I think it was about halfway through when I stopped watching it, but I'm not sure. Keep watching, and stop if you start not liking it. There's no big finale.

When you turn wrenches long enough you develop a calibrated elbow (or wrist in this case).

We've had about 1.5" of rain in the last few days, so I'm hoping that will help.

I agree 100%. I needed another five-gal can, and couldn't find a used one, so I bought a new one at TSC and ordered a spout kit that evening. Even that needed some modding if I remember right, though.
