Man, I wish I had built one. That's awesome! There are some things you have to use an analog meter for. Very handy when you need them.

And yeah... that Velcro didn't last long. It didn't take long for me to think "what the hell is wrong with this thing?" and look to see what I'd (not) done.

EDIT: Just checked my "congrats" email from Ebay. I think I'm just 448 subs from generating income off there now... I need to check what the qualifying metrics are again.

I'm asking because it feels like the oil filter cap wrench turns and turns. A hand tightened oil filter only goes to a point.

It was super easy. I usually tighten the oil filter by hand.
I never torqued the oil filter to extreme with the cap wrench today.
I noticed the oil filter cap style wrench can easily and effortlessly surpass a hand tightened filter.

Anyway, I tightened with the wrench cap, to a point where it felt like it was decently tight enough. I see no oil leaks.
Make contact with the seal and then 3/4 of a turn, no more, regardless of method.

I recall the different kits...build your own radio kit as well. This kinduh reminds me off my first cell phone. A bag phone from radio shack with a battery about the size of a ice cream sandwich lol.

Congrats x2... That's cool...I think you'll get there, specially with what you have going now. It's challenging, lots are interested...want to learn. It's kind of one of those you do once and never do it again (body work/paint). I think you're going to draw a larger crowd before you finish.

Some of this crap is tedious. I really wish someone made this hood scoop new.

I'm not concerned with the oil filter not coming off next oil change, because the cap oil filter wrench will take it out easy.
3/4 of a turn ?
That means this oil filter is overtightened.
I tightened this oil filter with the flute cap wrench.
I never torqued to super extremes, but it's surely more than hand tight.
My hand can't turn in that constricted space in the vehicle.
You think I crushed this oil filter gasket?
