Even having a water pump on hand would be a good idea.
I've seen prices go up 20% in the last yr on these parts alone.
except that doesn't sell. It would become dead inventory and ford penalizes us for dead inventory. I have 0 sales history on all 3 of those items

With proper maintenance, it's quite possible none of those parts will need to be replaced. Case in point: My 270K-mile '99 had the original IAC, EGR, and water pump when it pulled the top off a valve and went ker-chunka-ker-chunka-ker-phlooey.

Those items you listed, are mostly available thru the Motorcraft warehouse and can be easily gotten by the dealer. Ours is Factory Parts here in Anchorage. Matter of fact, when I ordered my 5.4 replacement engine thru Kendall Ford, it was delivered by FP here. Kendall Ford picked it up for the core.

DJ. I used to hate yearly obsolescence returns.

Aren't those all in the wrong positions? The brown being on the other end to start? Cables aren't my strong suit If I even have one. LOL

ford did away with them actually. They give dealers a certain dollar amount to scrap every 1/4. We just throw the stuff out if we don't sell ot

That is so much better. I tend to remember that was happening before I left. The freight returns were too high from Alaska to Cali. Glad to see that.

The connector was put on upside down. This will cause a Meraki AP to become a repeater because it can't resolve an IP address. I found two of them wired like that since 2014. The cable was like this:

12345678 on one end
87654321 on the other

Ya, EGR or IAC valves, just pull them out and clean them with carb cleaner. How would you prolong a water pump's operating life ?
A mechanic who owned a 10th gen F150 replaced his water pump in the shop, where he was working on it with 225 000 + km's. He sold the truck at 250 000 km's.
Being a mechanic, he would know all the in's & out's of proper maintenance.
