I'd like to know how he installed the timing chains when he doesn't understand what timing is lol. It's kind of important getting that right.

It's a first for sure...it won't run long.

It sorta looks like the 215 mi was at 43 mph. Air resistance goes way down. It's considered half of used power (when at a steady speed,) at 50. Acceleration burns gas, and is a squared function. Air resistance is cubed! 3-fold at 100??? Not good at 75. What's your rear end ratio?

A 1965 science weekly said a car, (big old boats back then,) used 7.5 hp for all frictional losses at 50mph and 7.5 more for air resistance

Looking good!

I thought you might of been referring to LMC. LMC carries that same sort of stuff for these trucks. I've ordered from there in the past, good stuff! It's like a one of kind merchant for moldings, interior parts, hard to find stuff and what nots.

That should ruin the 4x4 at the very least.

I would not expect a looong life, if this was its only job, but now and then? Short distance, say, 1/4 mi? A diesel in low gear? Nah. His tires are slipping, too, (even the fronts, so he IS in 4x4,) so he is not 100% lugging it... IMHO.

I PROMOTE, "Going for it!!!" But some here have most or all of the puzzle. Some of use have a few pieces and a few clues. Some just have a few clues. If someone hurries and bangs onto puzzle pieces to make them fit, the puzzle can suffer.

I do everything, by baby steps. Even oil changes. Nothing cross threaded. No messes. On a V good day, my hands or gloves might even stay clean. I grew up working on lil Honda motorcycles. If you know then, you know that I did not get very much wrenching practice.

I not only hate, but cannot afford to make mistakes. Usually, that puts me in first place, although others will have a few more races under their belts. They will be ahead, in points, despite a few DNFs. YMMV. Different strokes...

I also hate having to do a job twice, but if it was MY mistake, not just a bad, new part, then it's worse. It happens. But I strive to make it as rare as possible. That means much reading beforehand, to ask intelligent questions, if any at all. I don't want to just DO things, like some do. I want to understand. I hate cake mixes. I can do better. But I started with mixes - "kits."
But Drs' first credo - "Do no harm." I slow my flow. No errors allowed. If noone sees it, I am still embarrassed. It's not OCD, errors are just wasteful and stressful. Rabbit and hare. That said, absolutely, Go for it! No fear! But prep like hades. You will like the result. Clean, calm, smooth, no failures, fires first turn of the key. I don't care about being embarrassed in front of others... we all screw up... just in front of myself. It happens, but I don't beret myself much, cuz I keep it rare. So gear up, and Go for it. Remember the turtle... pace yourself. YPWV, but it will improve.

Oh, yeah.... I've got things from LMC. LMR is the place to go for 79 and newer Mustang Resto parts.

I think I'm going to go over and ask again about buying this car. I've been shut down twice now. But.... I have an extra motor, and my Buddy wants to build me an AOD with 4R70/4R75 internals.
