Thinking
If you were kid when the Herbie movies were out, every kid wanted a Beetle.
The infamous Scout 144 half-cast Comanche engine. Don't forget that Volvo's had slant 4's too in the US. But, who can forget the most famous slant? The 225 Chrysler (yuck on the mfg) slant 6. Cabs could get 500k on the motors with relative ease. Their weak link........the distributor gear. Plastic and would break/shear teeth whenever. Cheap fix though, and the early electronic ignitions. Module failure and resistor failure. Sold an awful lot of those pieces for those engines.

I just got thinking about the 144. That size is not right. It should have been a 152 because it was half of a 304. The 144 size was the Ford I6 used in the early Falcon/Comets etc. Damn, we are talking back about early 60 engines and a relic Scout II engine. LOL
