Thinking
BTW, it was a bit difficult for me to find powdered Tide. Years ago, I worked at a Subaru dealer as a detail tech. Powdered Tide and warm water does wonders on vehicle upholstery.

I have a theory of why my rear diff may be turning it's newish gear oil into a sliver/metallic color ...
If the ride is stiffer on a truck with heavy duty leaf springs(5 leaf + helper springs) vs. factory springs(4leaf)...
doesn't that put more strain on the rear diff more ?
I can feel more bumps in the road, and the ride is in general more stiffer.
Probably gears coming together and rubbing more....
make sense somehow ?
I don't really haul anything serious or tow at all....

Sorry, but then, ALL pickups and moreso, 250's and up, would always have metal in differential oils. It would be an entirely untenable situation and would mean 5000 mile dif oil changes, and all covers would have a drain.
You might find a guy on UTube who does tests, and I have seen charts and graphs, now and then, on oil/brand wear comparisons, by googling comparisons.
