Mechanic says he has to spend $4K a year to update the latest downloads for scanners.
It's nothing like a normal scanner does that Joe blow public has he said. He said his reads transmission codes as well.
that scanner can make the car dance if you know what you are doing. I know my way around fords IDS fairly well
Ahh, I see. Yep, caulk gun tube. Wish it came with a washered screw cap and a few extra tips. Like 3M provides with their pricey caulk. Hate cleaning out the tips when finished.....I get that crap everywhere then lol.
What about that stuff ? Is it pressurized or does it require a gun ?
It's pressurized. Kind of like Cheeze-Whiz. You'll get a little residual that will come out, but I love that I can use it again. I've thrown away so many tubes of RTV because I wind up squeezing so hard that it splits the metal tube, LOL.

I guess I look at it differently. My brain is very mechanical, and I love a good puzzle. Do I break stuff? Sometimes... Have I spent more than I would have to take it to a mechanic? Sure, more than once. I love the experience though. It keeps my brain active. I started out by watching my Dad work on the family vehicles, and was so intrigued. I was working on things on my own at age 15.... I did the ignition system on my Grandpa's 78 F150 with a 460.
Last night I was working on the fog lights for The Eight Nine. They haven't worked for several years, but I don't really drive it at night, so no big deal. Anyway... at some point I pulled the fuse. Can't remember why. Long story made way shorter, Ford did not put a relay in for the fog lamps. The fog light switch is on its own 15 amp circuit. Some engineer thought that would be just fine.
I found one of my spare Ford relays in my relay stash. It was a spare that I kept in my Ranger. Can't remember if it's a 30A or 40A, but it will be plenty for two fog lights. I made up a schematic for an upcoming YT vid.
EDIT: The relay...

What's a tell tale sign that your 4x4 Actuator(Front) is going on you ?
I have both my solenoids changed for vacuum, new wires for vacuum, T case motor ....
Sometimes my 4x4 doesn't engage quickly....then it kicks in....then it stays in 4x4....but 4x4 usually engages quickly, bang on 7-8 times out of 10
Could be the actuator sticking ?
$150 for one aftermarket on RA - Ford out of stock.
I wouldn't touch an aftermarket.
Ill check tomorrow but i wouldnt be surprised if it's discontinued from ford
