I had another great 4X4 outing with a local group this weekend, and today I took the day off, so all day I've been thinking about whether to start dumping money into my F150 for off-road upgrades or to unload it in favor of something different, maybe with a lift and tires already installed. The F150 seems to be limited in the aftermarket (which I find incomprehensible) but buying any used 4X4 truck right now is a fool's errand ($$$$). I haven't seen a fair price in months.

Whitey.....did you put in a new crush sleeve when you redid the seal?

No, I didn't need to.

Welp... along with my Verizon upgrade to the internet, I also get to dump 7.99 a month for Disney Plus, and also gain Hulu and ESPN+.

Hope you figure it out. I've had to do it twice back in the early 90's. Thought it was due to the increased shaft angle after lifting the truck. Nope, new seal was junk or didn't take. Second one worked.

Good Luck !

I am going to get a Ford seal this time, and one of the Ford Racing flanges. I needed my truck right away, so I had no time to order a new flange. I should have used my speedi-sleeve, BUT, I also saw that my splines on the flange were not in the best shape. I knew this was quite possible to happen again. I am going to start hitting the JY and see if I can find a front diff with a 3.73 in it. If I can, we're going to be playing switcharoo on the rear gears too.

Good morning, all. Still kicking (and screaming) here. Work has been taking up way too much of my time, and way too much of my mind. I woke up about 2:15 this morning, and finally drifted off again about an hour before the alarm. Think I'm canceling next week's SLC trip and moving it to April in favor of getting other stuff done.

P. S. Snowed again last night, and it's currently 15°. I'm ready for summer.

P. P. S. Some good news: I'm out of the boot and working on getting some flexibility back in that foot.

Good to see you, Ohio! When you come up next, let me know. I was eyeing up next week, and I am going out of town on Thursday through Saturday evening (that's the plan right now, anyway).

Thought you had a front axle complete. Was that a 3.55 or something ? You must be getting a deal on that stuff. 3.73's doesn't seem worth it in my opinion. 4.10's yes. The 01 had 3.73's....I couldn't tell the difference. Both trucks were 5fours. The 98 would still out pull it w/3.55's. But it had the LT headers and E4OD/4R100. Made a huge difference in pulling. Would of been an animal w/4.10's.

Good hearing from yuh, stressful working phases suck....been there. As long as it was temporary I could tough it out. Too much of that though.........def not good for yuh.

Man that was a long time in the boot. Take the big puppy hiking...might be some good foot therapy lol.
