how you going to fix those ?
those body mounts need changing ASAP but that rust has penetrated lethally !!!

you'll love your truck after it has new body mounts.
You should sandblast what you can and epoxy coat it. Then when all is well and dry, install new body mounts.
Haha...nope! It wouldn't be the same truck fixed...with all that needs fixing. Sentimental aspect is a wash. I was kind of hanging onto that for awhile, as well as the kid. I think we are over it lol.

Time for the crusher I expect. I'll look for something else for them.

Thanks fellas.

Rock Auto had every line for that truck last night,- E4OD/4R100. I thought that was pretty cool. The line section that rotted away was listed at only $5.67......and another $23.30 to ship it lol. Come on RA.... Dang, I should of snipped a shot of that, pretty crazy.

Luckily Amazon had a supplier in their pocket... a little more reasonable, -

Amazon Amazon

All the lines are bad right at the front, ready to burst. The others aren't leaking yet , the output shaft seal looks a little damp, but that's it for leaks. Anyway, repairing/replenishing the necessary...good enough to move it around if needed....for now. So I guess just that line section and 4 or 5 quarts of fluid...see what happens. If it doesn't move after that, I not out much.

It's been a few busy days, so I'm just catching up.

Dang, AK! What a find!!! I gave $4300 for my '08 Grizz a few years back. It had been used only for driveway plowing, so super low miles, but you found a no-mile 3-year-old machine for over a grand less!

Black, glad to see things coming along.

Buck: Ain't it amazing how noticeable the improvement is when we fix all that stuff vs. how we don't notice the degradation? Boiling frog syndrome. 🐸

Brew: that's a heckuva big undertaking as a first project. What about having a cover made locally? That way you can select the materials and know someone experienced stitched it up well?

Sorry the '98 may be on its way to the big parts yard in the sky. It was a good run, though, for sure. Yes, parking in the grass is *way* worse that concrete or even gravel, especially where you are with more rain and high humidity. The (partial) solution to that (and any long-term parking, really) is rolling out a tarp and parking over that. That's what I did with my Mustang when it was stored at the fairgrounds, and it wasn't uncommon to find moisture I the underside of the plastic even though it was indoors on concrete.

The trans issue reminds me: I need to pull the fill plug on my xfer case. I'm betting I'll find some Mercin V in there again, because the trans fluid was only halfway up the hash marks when I checked it last week. It's been quite a while since I drained and refilled it, though, so the output seal must still not be too bad (yet). It really should be changed, but man what a job.

I probably forgot t comment on something, but that was three days worth of chatter and my brain won't hold it all. 😄

I'm attempting to save money along the way with this build, the main goal is cheap fun. So, I decided to do my best to restore my tail lights. I think it looks pretty good. The other side is missing some clips, so I am on pause with that one.

Looks good to. me, White. I much prefer the LX lights to the cheese graters.

Oh, Mustang stuff: I started out the other day to drive the Mustang to Vail for a training session with my customer. I stopped about 15 minutes from home to clean the windshield, and MAN am I glad I did. When leaving, I got on the go pedal hard, and one second later, blew the end-pipe off one of my Heimholz tubes. It had been held in place by a band clamp for years, but the tubes weren't butted (trying to tune out the lower-frequency drone). That, and being scraped on the driveway many times must have loosened it up. I'm *really* glad it was only 15 minutes out and not 1.5 hours! Although I did get 1.5 hours out, decided to have some dinner in Breckenridge, and realized I'd forgotten my @#&$ wallet! My 2.5 hour drive turned into about six, and I got to my hotel at 11:30 pm. Had fun in the Acura, though, anyway, and didn't get the Mustang all buggy.
