This thing has been a great little car, overall. There are currently two available near me with a manual trans. Somehow these things have suddenly come up in value. People want four grand for these things with 200K on them. Geez. Mine just turned over 180K last week.... gotta be worth five grand at least, LOL. My sister bought it brand new, so I know its entire history. I put rear struts on it when she still owned it. Then I put the first set of brake pads, rotors, shoes, and drums on it right after I got it.... and then I also had to put a water pump in it last year. It does eat serpentine belts... and has since it was new. Toyota's belt system is awful.. It also eats light bulbs, LOL. I think I figured out how to disable the DRL's, so I hope I can reduce bulb consumption a bit.

Thanks for the sub! I much appreciate it.

That requires a bit more time to set up, but would shake the heck out of the can.

Tell him I said hello, JP. He's not answering my PM's.

Soooo.... this video that FTM posted today justifies some of my hunches on "Frankie". For some reason, Frankie will sometimes die when I push in the clutch. The VSS that was in it was physically broken, so I bought a Dorman and a Standard unit, knowing that at least one of them would probably be a POS. Well... after this video, I got to looking, and the VSS does indeed play a role in idle when you push in the clutch. I think I've found my problem.....

Great video BTW.... this one is applicable to the 97/98's.

For the record, here are the two sensors I bought.... I think I started with the Dorman. But I think I'll just go straight to a Ford unit.

Thanks, JP. Yes sir... I've been a busy guy!

For the whole day tomorrow.... I will be completely unsupervised. I won't know what to do with myself, LOL. I'll probably film another video. Gotta try and get rid of my DRL's on the Toyota.
