So, my green ESE-M97B44-A (Motorcraft ® Premium Antifreeze/Coolant) coolant in my 97 shouldn't be upgraded?
And my 2011 E-350 should not upgrade from the WSS-M97B51-A1 (Motorcraft ® Gold Antifreeze/Coolant)?

The only upgrade he speaks of is from orange WSS-M97B44-D or WSS-M97B44-D2 (Motorcraft ® Orange Antifreeze/Coolant) to new yellow WSS-M97B57-A1 or WSS-M97B57-A2 (Motorcraft ® Yellow Antifreeze/Coolant)

Thoughts?

Yes, I think you got it. The Orange and the Dark green are the types to change over to the new yellow. That's the way I understand it anyway.

BTW- You can get more than 3 years out of the 97's Motorcraft green coolant, IF you pull the block drain and use distilled IMO. However, that may depend on how hard you use your truck.

The guy he was helping was standing right over the trailer connect when it bottomed out...just looking at it lol. If that thing would of popped then..... that could of been bad as well. Matt should told him to step back , get away from there.

Fortunately, he didn't bust the tongue screw when it popped. That was quite a bit of force!

The green in the 97 gets changed every three years since new. Green is just too cheap to take the chance.
I use Valvoline GO5 for the van and most of my kids cars as the Motorcraft stuff is quite expensive and the van takes a buttload of it.

That's a good regimen, can't go wrong. I use to change it out every 3 when new. I check integrity now a days, it'll go 5 years, - the way I used the truck anyway.

I thought about using Peak extended at one time, the 5 year formulation. Never tried it though. The Motorcraft is great stuff imo, stuck with it. It's the greenest lol.

That 98 is stubborn as hell about trapping air. I don't have a problem if I lift the front end so that the degas bottle is at least level with the heater core. PITA to purge if I don't. I fought that one time, that was enough for me lol.

I always take the top hose off and fill it from there. Usually very little burping needed.... in fact mine usually just takes care of itself when I use that method.
