less stress on power steering pump that way.
Really bad for tires and PS pump.

If I caught a tech doing that on my vehicle I'd let him have it.
..then the shop would probably tell you never to come back. lets not reinvent the wheel. If ford says you don't need to jack the truck up then it doesn't need to be

I'm not a thug or troublemaker.
I've had some bad experiences with some garages.
Crooked as they come...
so I'm on my last nerve with many "techs" and I think it's warranted.
They tell you to leave your vehicle, you pay for work that's never done.
I'll never pay for work if I'm not witnessing it... ever!

Charging me for T case fluid change...not done!
materials were kept.
Installing upper control arms wrong and vehicle not being able to be aligned properly.
Being charged $75 plus for several alignments and them not working.
Paying for a rear diff fluid change and they only put in a couple litres.

If you don't see the work being done...be suspect that it was even performed before paying your money.

In a bit of good news... after my Wife's health issues the past few months, we were on the hook to the tune of 8 grand. I'd paid it down to 6900 as of this morning. My Wife called all of the different places today (there are 6 or 7 bills from various services) to see if they would offer any deals, etc. and they widdled it all the way down to a grand total of 610 dollars we owe total. They completely wrote off the ambulance ride, and all but 15 dollars of the week in the hospital. Man... that is just awesome!

In short. - Good dealerships, shops, techs, mechanics outweigh the bad ones. That goes for customers as well....just the way it is.

Most folks that frequent sites like this either enjoy learning how to work on these trucks themselves, or assist others with accomplishing that. This is where you capitalize.

You've had some bad luck that's all.

GRF, Where do you live that there are so many dishonest , lying thieves working near you? I sure don't want to accidently move there.

Along those thoughts, ALWAYS check the lug nuts before you leave the facility.
One of my daughters left a shop after a state inspection with two wheels with very loose lug nuts. Had to buy two wheels as the shop claimed they tighten all lugs and torque them. They did not.
