She sounds like a good choice. Just knowing that she knew a teacher was on that shuttle flight hit her hard. The first non-astronaut going on a flight and it was a teacher. A great example of what we can be.

Yes, but not on a dry or snowless road. Studs are used mostly or Blizzaks tires. Non studded, but go almost everywhere. Expensive and only last about 3 winters worth only. Still, safest tire out there on snow. Hakkappallitas are really great too.

This was interesting AK. Studs are also illegal in Michigan and I remember when that happened but I didn't remember the date. April 1st, 1975 but I also came across this. Chains in Michigan became illegal in 1949 but became legal again in 2006. Only legal for safety on roads covered with ice or snow and may not touch the road surface. Never heard of this change in the law.

Sorry, not a great picture. Working on the throttle by wire install and if you can make it out there are 3 bosses on the pedal that doesn't match anything on the trucks firewall. The indentations on the firewall for the original pedal don't match this pedal. I'm hoping someone has some suggestions on how to mount this pedal? I'm open to any ideas. Hammer and dollying indentations on a firewall would be darn near impossible. My arms aren't that long and I don't want to distort the wall with a screw punch.

How about making a flat backing plate (plastic, wood, aluminum or whatever) and drilling the mount so that those 3 bosses fit on to that plate. Then you would have a flat plate would make it so you can mount it to the firewall. Just a thought.

It's a good thought AK. I've convinced myself that the only way the pedal assembly will last is to make sure the pedal is flat to the firewall which would mean the flat plate under it. What I didn't mention in the post was all 3 of the bosses are different lengths of 1\4" to just short of 1\2". A plate or a radical idea will be necessary. I've considered cutting a hole in the firewall and putting a plate on engine side of the wall with the boss indentations pre-fabricated to the plate. I don't much care for that idea though. The three pedals will line up if I can keep the mounting where the old pedal was. I don't know if it's just coincidence or if it's some undiscussed Ford standard but both pedals have the same distance from the firewall. If that has to go it will but I'd like to maintain the distance if I can.

I usually have no problem with having an answer for fabrication issues but this one so far has been a series of 6 of one, half a dozen of another. So far I'm stumped and I think the backing plate might be the only answer.

White, The other day I asked if you knew why my phone wouldn't download photos anymore. I found out why. There is now a windows app called "Your Phone" and that has to be used to get anything off my phone on to the computer. The problem with the app is Microsoft retrieves all text messages once a month and puts them on the cloud along with the latest 25 pictures. You can't prevent this from what I've read. They also have access to everything on the phone. Bluetooth also has to be activated. I don't use Bluetooth. I really miss my flip phone. Small and no nonsense.

One bridge lost a couple of accent panels, but the overpass itself was sound.

Leaving town, it snowed about 5=6 inches and was coming down fairly heavy. NOT a plow in site. The weather changed 14 miles out and it was rain and no snow anywhere but fog came in for 15 miles. It wasn't too bad to drive in, still some black ice under in spots. That was to change. Mile 48, the snow was coming down so bad, you couldn't see 100' in front of the truck. I got up to my buddies, and I drove up to his house. I stepped out and it was over my knees. That was just from last night until this afternoon. And it stopped for 7 hours he said.

I will say one thing though, Red performed flawlessly in that snow, and I am not running any kind of lug tire. Just a highway/street design by Bridgestone. I am so happy I put in that LS rear axle. Red did step out a few times today, but quickly corrected himself. I'd say I don't think I'm going to run that trip again when it's snowing. I tension you get from a trip like that, up and back, is tremendous. And I'm more than used to this.but today was odd, even for us.
Dang man, what a great friend you are AK...I mean, sure, you go out of your way for friends, but that became extreme! - I hope they at least fed yuh after all that lol. That's awesome man!
