WOW, that's something else. Yea, never seen anything like it.

I've seen lightning totally annihilate a tree, that was more of an explosion tho, like a bomb....just blew apart, roots and all.

Anyway, yea, never seen anything like that yet.

Damn. The tree went up like the things caught in a volcano lava flow. That's probably a good example of how people suffocate in fires when the fire sucks up all the air. Scary.

Luckily we didn't have the fire season we normally do. Our smoke jumpers have mostly gone south to help the West Coast crews. I'm proud of our fire crews up here. It is usually bad, but we got spared this year with the extra rains up north.

Had some excitement last night, I heard the call over the scanner and was able to catch some of it on video.
Officer said the orange Challenger almost hit him while he was on a traffic stop, not sure if he was out on foot or in the unit.
I assume by the distance between them, he was out on foot and had to get back into his unit to take chase.
They called the chase off after 2 miles for safety reasons.
