I've had some practice over the years, best is non adhesive friction tape. Good to have a 2" and 1" roll handy. WOD automotive harness heat tape. That's OEM stuff.

I won't use super 88 or 33 for automotive. I have tesa tape (3 big rolls of it lol), but never had good luck with it, the Amazon stuff anyway. It doesn't look as good as OEM (finish product) and comes apart.

I'll use some 3M stuff sometimes, non adhesive as well but it's a self adhering rubber type...really good stuff. I forget what it's called lol. I'll use that once in awhile when heat isn't a factor... vs WOD.

I’ve heard really good things about the tesa tape, it supposedly what Audi, BMW, and a few other car brands wrap theirs with so I’m gonna give it a shot. I bought their super heat resistant roll so it should hold up to engine bay temps. The super 33 won’t be on top, exposed to the elements, it will be used as a base layer, to seal the harness then tesa on top of it. I’ll be sure to let you all know how it goes.

Yea, I got suckered into it because of the Amazon reviews too, long ago. Ford OEM is much better. Professional, moisture proof, easy to remove and re-wrap without replacing (in most cases) and very little sticky crap to screw with. You'll see what I mean in the future.

I pay attention to Amazon reviews as well, but in this case, I side with the professionals. They really know what they're doing.

Good Luck!
