I'm going to use my elven vision (even though 1200 miles is a bit out of range) to remote diagnose and even possibly repair your truck.
From my past knowledge, gained from reading online forums and the remote diagnoses procedures from them, I can confidently tell you that the &#@$ light on indicates that either you need a new vent poppet counter or the duplificator valve has failed.
Therefore this means that:
The repair is either not worth doing on a truck this olde and worthless and the only correct thing is to junk it and get a new truck regardless of the cost implications and likelihood of another used truck having some other issue.
or
This repair is so simple that you should have used the search function (that seems to be somewhat wonky to me) to find all 7,276 threads that have this exact easy fix that will only cost you $.23 and three minutes of time.
So, it doesn't matter how much sweat equity or great family memories you have in the truck, go now and trade it in on a brand new one as that is the only way. Only dealers know how to fix things.
No, just cut off the cadallic converters and replace them with Y pipes and that will fix it to how the factory should have made it.
IF YOU WANT IT REALLY LOUD YOU NEED TO PIPE THE EXHAUST DIRECTLY INTO THE CAB
NO, the breaks are gonna fail and only the dealer is allowd to fix breaks of you won't have insurance when you run over the school bus and kill 77 little kids. TaKe It To tHe Dealer as PeOpLe AreNt SmaRt EnOuGh to fIx BrEaKs.
But I will say, whomever on here who told the guy who had straight pipe on his truck and complained it wasn't loud enough to pipe them directly into the cab, I still laugh about that one. That is a classic !

I found someone to come by and fix it for ya.
Here is a pic in case you see him
Great Guy.
Used to work in Bhopal back in '84.
Yep, I'm bored in a video meeting at work.
If I didn't snore so loud I could probably get away with a nap.
This entire post is written with tongue completely planted in cheek.

Reason: Also from that Scotty dude on Youtube. I can't believe people watch his videos then take their cars to him.

LOL... I don't remember that one, but it sounds like something @Jbrew might say.
Ohio, Forscan is your tool. I have the full version, but I think the free version will do it as well.
hired a replacement for my former coworker, she seems like she could work out, used to be a GM for an advance auto
Normal She? or Distraction She?
One time many years ago we had new carpet installing in our offices.
I had to share office for a couple days with a she that can be best describes as a college age hot Tinkerbell (even with the too short dresses)
I didn't get much done those two days.
Nothing unnice or inappropriate, just a couple days lost due to me being completely distracted.

I love talking about tools more than I like using them. :P
Gearwrench makes a few good small sets of tools. They do have a lower and upper tier versions that are based on price. Most of the kits are hit or miss. I think they are mostly APEX tool group so all the designs will be of similar quality. Gearwrench, Matco & Capri are all really good Gina brands with pretty good quality control. For the life of me, I can't think of a lot of things that you might need to do roadside that can't be done with most 3/8&1/2" combo kits. You couldn't pay me enough to turn a Pitsburg ratchet, lol. I am a little uppity but not so to the extreme. I should mention Tekton because they have GREAT sockets and the most complete kits I have seen. I loath their ratchets though so if you buy them, swap out the ratchet for one of the premium Gearwrench or Capri's.
Tekton is a Michigan based company that's at least trying to bring tool manufacturing back to the US.
Mac and Proto are my new tool brand focus since my favorite "workers" brand SK, sold out to Gina. I can't bring myself to swap out 10k in SK hand tools for 30k in Snap-off.
