In the Microsoft world they would say "That's not a bug, it's a feature."
Speaking of the beloved Microsoft, have you ran into this one yet? The latest Windows 10 update is creating a trust issue between the PC and domain controller. Unfortunately, if you don't know the local password, you're kind of screwed. The only fix is to disjoin the domain, then rejoin.
Back in the days when walking to and from school was up hill both ways and gas station attendants were at every station it was common to get your gas pumped by someone with a cigarette in their mouth. ---A bit of trivia, New Jersey is the only state that still mandates gas to pumped by a station attendant but smoking is not allowed.
It is mandated in Oregon as well. Every once in a while I'll head to Portland and I have to remind myself. They can get pretty pissy about it.

I've been battling that randomly since Windows 7. A PC will work fine for years then out of the blue trust relationship is broken for no reason. Makes no sense. We always set a password on the local admin account and enable it so we are safe but... when you use the windows media creation tool to upgrade a PC to v2004 it disables the that local admin account again and doesn't tell you. Then if you need it, you're F...ed. Thanks MS
I keep telling my dad to use a password on his home PC, but he just won't do it. With the last update it looks like WIN 10 now requires at least the lock screen to display when starting up or coming out of standby even without a password set. He doesn't like that, either.

The last week of August, I had a system try and upgrade to 1909 (yeah... they just now pushed it a year later), and it completely corrupted the OS. Couldn't open CAD, Office, Illustrator... All it would allow me to run was Chrome and Microsoft Edge. I couldn't install or uninstall anything either. If you've ever dealt with CAD licensing, you know exactly what a pain in the azz that becomes when you lose a system with an active license.
I had one today that LUCKILY it still let me into the current user account it was in (on the domain). So I was able to put it back in WORKGROUP, than join the domain again. What sucks is, I've found at least 3 different passwords my predecessor used for local accounts. I use the same local password on every single machine I set up.
Microsoft really needs to test this $4it better before they start pushing it.

He can use a PIN instead, if that would help ease the tension.
Wondering if anyone can help my neighbor who is helping a friend of his daughter. She has a 98 Mercury Mountaineer which needs a new brake booster. He was told the dash has to come out to remove the booster. That seems excessive for a booster but I couldn't help him one way or the other. I don't know. Does anyone here have any advice, suggestions or help for him?
