I tried my best to get things finished yesterday, but about 830 fell asleep. I guess I needed a nap. At 11 pm, a dog started screaming like someone was beating him.her. After the 3 or 4th scream group, I got up and went to see if a dog was caught in a fence or whatever. I found my neighbor, 3 doors down, just whipping the crap out of his 4=7mo old Shepard puppy. I watched for a second to make sure it wasn't something the dog was doing and he was trying to help. No way. This dude was hitting, slapping, kicking this poor pup. I yelled to him he had better stop. He told me to go F myself. Wrong thing to say. I was on the roadway but started to go to him when he yelled like a little kid. Help help help. This guy is trying to hurt me. WTF??

This guy, about 6 ft tall and 200 pounds would beat the crap out of the Shepard, but won't come to talk to a guy in his late 60's. Talk about a bully. Needless to say, my neighbor across the street called the cops. She told the cops what i said, and they issued some kind of ticket to the guy. What he didn't realize was that Red was on the street, dash cam on, and it caught everything, but the first hit and kick. It got shown to the officer later.

Animal control came by at 2 am and did a welfare check on the dog. They took him from the guy. Adding insult to injury, the office manager came down this morning and told him he had to leave. He wasn't on the owner's list and he had a criminal conviction of a serious nature that wasn't allowed here. After seeing what he did to that dog and the way that woman he lives (lived now), always is covered up since he's moved in. She used to run around in swimsuits and light clothing. Now she's always got turtle necks and long sleeves and long pants. I personally believe that he's abusing her. That's just me, but that would make the sounds of a week ago fit into the narrative. A woman was screaming at about 3 am, and after going outside, it stopped. Didn't have clue where it was coming from. Cops drove around but didn't hear/see anything. It kind of points over there now.

 

Good for you AK. I'm glad to hear it ended the way it did. Liquid courage is often involved in situations like this and God only knows what can happen. A grown man that will beat a puppy is capable of darn near anything. Senseless.

 

Good job, AK. I will never understand a guy that can rough up a girl.... or his dog. I'm glad your dash cam was rolling so you had some evidence. Hopefully he gets some time in the slammer to think about it.

I only caught the last 10 minutes of Hot Rod Garage tonight but they did a 2.3 turbo bird, year unknown. They got it to 278 hp at the wheel but I can't tell you about anything they did. They did say it was about equal in power to a new 2.3 turbo Mustang.

 

I thought I sold my car, neighbor tried giving me a $1600.00 deposit.
I told him wait till you have all the money, then 2 days later he tells me the wife won't let him spend the money....
He now has to sell his truck 1st, and is asking about paint shops....lol (82 Chevy P/U lowered in satin black)
I have a feeling my car won't be sold this summer.

 

I hear you Phil. I had made a lot of plans to begin this summer and they've all been shot to hell. One of the plans was to sell the Edge. There was a lot of interest in it being an 08 with only 40k miles but all interest has dried up with what this virus and the economy. For other plans I had I can't even get half of the visa's I needed for travel plans I'd made. Most visa's for "just passing through" get denied. Your neighbor's wife is probably being smart if they have any concerns about their income changing for any reason beyond their control.

 

Finally, I got around to putting a new battery in my blue truck today. He's sat since Oct 1 last year. 8 months that poor truck just sat. Anyways, I said way back when, that when I took off Red's bumper to swap to the 99 up front end, that Blue would get Red's. Today I took and swapped the bars. I had to remove the silver top panel from Blue's bumper, then swap it onto the bar from Red. It went well. Now I no longer have the 4 holes that are trying to rust, that were there when I bought it with the cheap bull bar on it. This was the very first thing that i took off. I used the chrome headed carriage screws to fill the holes, but after time those holes start to rust some. Can't have that, especially when you are sitting on a perfect bar. LOL Now I need to wash the lawn cuttings off the new bar and give the truck a bath. Look ma, no holes!

 

I wish it was possible for our twins to get together, AK. I love that truck! The bumper looks good. How big of a PITA is it to take that cover off the metal? I was looking at that and also that black piece that is between the fender/grille and bumper, and that looked like it was a big hassle.

OK... so I decided the 85 GT was too much money for me.... 3,000 for a car that for sure doesn't run was just more than I wanted to mess with. Also decided the 78 Zephyr was far too rotted out for $2500, it is also 250 miles from home, and she "wasn't sure" if it would make it that far. Soooo, I'm talking to a guy with an early 4 eye (79-81) and a guy with an 88 GT. Hoping to strike a deal with one of them today. Damn near caved on an XJ last night though.... I've been watching too many of Matt's videos, LOL.
