Hey fellers... hope all is well on your projects and such today.

Went and looked at the 79, and it has a ripped floor pan. It's in OK shape otherwise. Then I went and looked at an 88 GT, and it's been through the wringer. However, I did make an offer on it, even though it needs a lot of work. He is supposed to get back with me... and he is also trying to locate a title, etc. So, we'll see where that goes.

Speak of the devil... he just told me he'll sell it to me, so now I just need a title.

OK... so I decided the 85 GT was too much money for me.... 3,000 for a car that for sure doesn't run was just more than I wanted to mess with. Also decided the 78 Zephyr was far too rotted out for $2500, it is also 250 miles from home, and she "wasn't sure" if it would make it that far. Soooo, I'm talking to a guy with an early 4 eye (79-81) and a guy with an 88 GT. Hoping to strike a deal with one of them today. Damn near caved on an XJ last night though.... I've been watching too many of Matt's videos, LOL.
The 97-98 is actually easieir to swap than the 99 up top cover. There are 5 push pins, you pull up the center pin and remover. There are a crap load of inserts around the front that go into the bumper holes, but they pop out easily with a hammer handle tap on them. Putting it back on is not bad either. The warmer the weather, the easier the plastics are to bend, but really it's not bad. You get the one end on and just come around. It get's harder in the last corner but it will pop on with a screwdriver under the retainer end.

Glad to hear you got the 88. Now, where is that title? lol. I hope he finds it.

The lights are boxed, so I'll get them ready to go out Monday in the mail. They are the same as in my bumper picture I showed above. Depo's. Hope you enjoy them.

Thanks a million, my friend! I'll get excited after he produces a title.... but it has some hope. The motor is pretty much useless. The passenger side head hasn't been on it for over 5 years. So it has rust on the walls. I don't know what I'll do with it yet, maybe the 351.... maybe the 302 out of mine..... maybe and Explorer motor with a cam. It does have a T5 in it. It has a cat back, and that seems to be the only "performance" add on that I can see. It is a speed density car, so that can be cool to a certain point.

Im kicking myself for not buying my buddies XJ last year... $1500 for a rust free DD with working 4x4. I too am wanting to buy an XJ and that wouldve been the perfect one! Also came with purple plaid headliner since the previous one was sagging LOL

I think I could pass on that headliner though. LOL

Glad your truck worked out today 2100. Those old FE engines are fun to work on, just not when changing an intake manifold. That is, Without a freaking crane. LOL.

Haha yeah it wouldve been the first thing fixed thats for sure.

And thanks again for helping! I havent heard this truck run that good ever. Few more test drives and I think I should be happy.

Yeah the was the first time wife got her hands dirty on this truck, I needed help setting that back into place after I cleaned it up. When the engine comes out for a full rebuild (way down the road) Im definitely putting an aluminum one back on lol Probably drop 100lbs easy

Also for everyone else that hasnt seen it, heres a trip down memory lane for you (or a google trip if youre younger like me LOL). $30 off ebay, even came with the original sales receipt 1/13/1980 and still looks brand new! Came with the box, user manual, all wires and accessories. Came in handy while chattin with Ak earlier this evening and definitely a must have when workin on these older engines. Also some writing on the manual tells me the previous owner had it for a 48-50 VW

I have a Sears Engine Analyzer too... and I'll be honest. I don't know how to use it. I assume the red and black go to the battery, the green to cylinder one.... but there's 2 spade connectors that I don't know what they are for? You guys know?

Here's mine:

Damn 2100... I was just looking at that receipt. It says 6% tax in 1980. Must have been from California, LOL.

Hey dont feel bad I had no clue they even existed till I started searching YouTube for help videos lol. Then I made sure to buy one with the manual so I knew how to do everything lol
Its for an amp test and its the shunt to wire that up.

For distributor engines, the green wire goes to the (-) of the ignition coil.

If you want I can scan my owners manual for ya
