IF the temps get up today, like they are supposed to, I'm going to start getting Red ready for his summer transformation. The towing mirrors will come off and go on Blue and the oem signal mirrors will go back on. The 99 up grille shell will be painted to match and the bumper top also. I'm still contemplating going with a bottom accent color, but haven't decided on a good color. I've seen a white, silver and beige bottomed trucks around, but nothing looks right on a SBFS but other than the black with gold FS that Ohio posted a long time ago. I'm thinking maybe a graphite color, but that might be too dark. Black is definitely not an option for the bottom. I love black as the main color, but not so much as an accent.

The shell will be the first thing to be done today. The tonneau will go back on. The tailgate light will be added when it gets here on Friday. The new mirror glass will be here then also, so then they will go back on. The old glass mirror coating shedded off in spots.

I found an 05 Expy this weekend being parted out. It has black leather interior with the belts mounted to the seats. I hadn't seen that combo before, but he said he will part it out if he doesn't sell it complete this week. I hope that he parts it. I want to go ahead and use the seats. These are buckets, so I'd have to go get the beige console from the 99 in the valley and dye it black to match. I know I'm getting ahead of myself, but I really want this set up. Damn seats were so nice, powered, heated, and very clean.

That would be great to get those seats. I am intrigued by the seat mounted belts! That could be a game changer for my truck.

sounds like a heck of a deal. A guy at work used to drive a 2000 expedition 5.4 with 120k miles, mechanically perfect. He said it died. Personally I think it’s fuel pump but he doesn’t want to mess with it. He offered me $500 for it. I never saw what the interior looked like but with 120k miles it can’t be that bad. If I had the room for it I’d jump ALL over it but... I guess it will sit in his driveway till he does something with it.

What are all of your states doing right now as far as COVID-19? Today in Utah, some businesses are allowed to re-open with restrictions. Businesses like barbershops, beauty salons, gyms, dine-in restaurants are all able to open today with restrictions. I don't trust citizens to adhere to those restrictions, and I also don't feel business owners will police it properly as to not offend customers. I really feel we are going to see an upswing in cases in 2 weeks.

Virginia is closed to all "non-essential" work and everyone must stay home except to fish or exercise.
The tyrannical (not calling for virus stuff, he was a tyrant before that) governor of the Virginia has put in place a re-open plan that can be implemented once impossible goals are met.
If it saves one life we must all stop everything! Saving lives wasn't important when he released violent prisoners. Why do we have bathtubs then as hundreds in Va die in bathtubs every year?

"I don't trust citizens" I trust people more than I trust the government.
I personally know of two people who died from other things that are now in the state Covid count.
One was my aunt (84 yo) who has been in hospice for over 2 years. It was originally kidney failure as a result of Alzheimer's disease. Now it is Covid. No one at the hospice tested positive. We later got a call about the covid death and what we need to do about it (get tested).
The other was a friends father (96 yo) who had a brain hemorrhage that caused a stroke. He just stood up from a chair after dinner and fell and died. Wasn't sick 2 minutes before fall. His family got a call three weeks later from the state about the Covid death and what they need to do about it. Same call from same state department.
I live in a rural area where we all know each other. I do not believe my family is lying to me, I believe the gov't needed to run up the numbers and changed the death records.

Rant is over. Virginia is closed and probably will be until Nov. 4th 2020 or probably Jan 20th 2021.

Typically I trust people more than government as well. But we have doctors, which are normal citizens, recommending a 6 foot zone around you. I constantly have to move myself away from people getting too close. Right there tells me that people aren't ready yet. Too many "nah, I don't have it" people walking around.

I think if I were to contract COVID, that I would personally be fine. However, I live with and work with several individuals that should not be contracting it. So I am always dong my best (while in public) to be courteous and maintain social distancing. Utah was ranked as the number one state as the hardest to practice social distancing.

Don't get me wrong, I want things back to normal more than anyone.... but I think following some guidelines gets us back to normal much quicker.

Did your state close it's huge parks where people could get some distance from others?
I know Utah has some very large and beautiful parks, I stayed at a place called Millsite? and Glen Canyon a bunch of years ago. You live in a beautiful place.
I hope those are still open. You could really get the distance there.

Ours closed them at first then reopened them with signs that remind people that the parks are not sanitized. Imagine parking at the side of a forest and there are signs at the trail head that say the forest has not been disinfected since Covid has been a thing. When was it ever disinfected? I should go take a pic and post it as the signs are just so stupid they are funny.

They did not close parks, no. In the very beginning, you could only visit state parks if you lived in the county the park was in. That, however, was lifted rather quickly... like 10 days. Take for instance, Millsite is in Emery County. So if you were a resident of Salt Lake County, you could not go in. Kind of dumb, and I think they realized that pretty early on, as it sounds like VA did too. The county that I live in, Tooele County, is the largest county in the state as far as land is concerned. There are several places to go around me, even within a matter of minutes. I think our canyons both open tomorrow, which I live minutes from also.... but those get closed for snow every winter.

This morning I got out my GMG to smoke some ribs, and I'll be damned if it didn't start raining as soon as I threw the ribs in, LOL. I got out an umbrella to cover my hopper with all of the electronics in it. So, I'll just putt around and watch it on my phone. This is my first time on the ribs with this thing.... I'm using the 3, 2, 1 at 225 method. Hope it turns out!

BTW.... one thing that has been driving me nuts is THREE times this week, I had someone come up and not only invade my 6 foot space, but actually place their hand on my shoulder. I am not OK with that. I might have to start being a dick, I suppose.

I have a brisket in the crockpot now. Yours sounds better.

" but actually place their hand on my shoulder."
That would have driven me even crazy before all this.
At our local Lowe's they have an x painted on the floor every 6 feet at the checkout lines. After seeing what 6' is I feel that was always my comfort level. It ain't that far.

I'm all for reasonable precautions but here it seems like here it is being used for political retribution by what must be closed (until the lawsuits start) and what is open and has no restrictions.

I part own a company (one of 13 owners) and as we get some tier 3 DOD contracts so we are "essential". We have always been told what to do by our insurance company. Now they are running stuff. I welcome their advise though, they seem reasonable.

One of my kids and a friend of theirs started a pizza and sub shop. It has 8 seats for people to eat there or sit while they wait for their food. It was OK at first as early rules were that restaurants can stay open if they have 10 customers or less. No limit on employees. Less that 2 weeks later they were told that it didn't qualify so it must takeout and delivery only or they would lose their license. Last time I asked he said they were at 50% revenue and many people had quit as they could get more a week on unemployment that at the cut hours.
