My mistake obviously but I was thinking he worked in a shop or something like it because of the "we". He sounds foreign and was asking about the parts and not the transmission. That caterpillar quickly morphed in to something other than a butterfly.

I came across this while reading and I'd be really interested in hearing what others think and opinions:

What is the Purpose of a Rear Differential? The differential is the final end mechanism that enables the creation of torque in the crankshaft before it is distributed through the transmission, to the drive shaft, and then to the wheels. This part serves to transmit engine power to the wheels while also enabling them to have different rotation speeds. This very purpose is the reason behind the name ‘differential’—because it can distribute different kinds of speeds to wheels especially during a turn.

I don't know what you want to hear as far as opinions? That's what a differential does. Have you watched this?

^^^ What he said. Sounds like a correct definition to me.

And White: As I was reading that post last night, all I could think was,, 'It's a simple matter of weight ratios! "

The great Monty Python! "A five ounce bird could not carry a one pound coconut."

I love how the guy is still debating with himself after the conversation is over.... exactly what we see over in that thread. I see that happen a lot more as time goes on, LOL. Some people can keep themselves occupied in their own conversation.
