I have to go out to the kids house today, they're painting. Finishing a knotty pine wall and working on the truck. I think I can totally get out of painting if I time it right lol.

I saw the initial "Can't find it" question, but not the melee that ensued. Wow! I don't respond right away, either, but also don't think I show up as "online" when I'm not. (I don't tend to go off like a hand grenade at jabbing comments, either.) Don't know, though: What triggers that 'online" status? Does just having a browser tab open in the background do it? What if it's suspended by an extension? I don't count on the status indicators for my work applications, because unless I see "Fred is typing..." I know they're not accurate either.

White, that jet pic was in the news recently was it not?

Sounds like a little recon or an informant is in order, Brew.

A late bite of breakfast for me, then I need to change the battery in the Jeep. I bought one earlier this week because the auto start/stop kept saying "Not ready. Battery is charging," but it seemed to be starting fine. Yesterday I pulled it out of the garage to have room to work on seat heater #2. After setting outside in the cold, it wouldn't restart. Charged the battery, and only got two starts before it said "nope, no more." Hope your timing is just as good.

A couple of spade connectors on the truck-side wires, and the passenger seat will be ready to put back in. Almost scary how much more quickly this one went compared to the first one.

You shouldn't have much trouble finding this and an install kit close by to you. If you can't, Summit will ship to you. I'm not at all familiar with the 9.75 but there should be more options available. I would think? Did you look into what differentials were used on the HD Transit Vans? They might have come with the 9.75?
Cheers River1,

Not looked into any other vehicles that use the same Diff yet but I have found a company a couple of hours away that do Axles etc. so have dropped them a message to see how much they would charge to do the swap & setup

https://www.hauserracing.com/pages/axles

Probably looking at £1000 -1500 all in (going on other UK prices I have found for similar jobs) but since I don't intend to sell the truck any time soon, it will still probably be worth having done

SON OF A B, it's leaking fuel behind the engine on top of the trans...figures. If it's the hose connections , it's the bottom of the hose at the crimp. It's not leaking at connections at the rail, could be behind the rail I suppose, bummer...

I'm ripping pine lol.

On the 4.2 anyway, there's a short flexible hose between the stainless lines on the trans and to the rail. The flexible hose appears to be just pressed on to the stainless for about 2 inches on each end. Is the line crimped between the stainless and flexible line?

The HD Transit did have the 8.8 Traction Loc limited slip but if that can help you or not I don't know. But it's a possibility you can just swap axles and maybe get the rear disk brakes the HD transit's had also. I tried looking up the European axle codes but had no luck finding them here. They may not be any different? AK may be able to help you with that for more information when the shop you found gets back to you? How the heck do you get around with your truck on the roads over there?

Cheers for that info, My 2001 does already have rear disks and would like to keep the 9.75 if I can, I'll have to see what they say about cost etc.

As for driving the truck over here, it's not too bad really, I had a 97 Mustang for almost 5 yrs before getting the truck so LHD isn't a problem and size is manageable 99% of the time, the other 1% is other people getting in the way... lol

It's my daily driver but I only put about 6k miles on it a year, it will probably go up next year now we have the travel trailer over here and we start going away more for weekends etc..

Copped a seat in the easy chair for now, they are kicking butt on the paint. I pulled a little tape just to get some time in.

Those flex lines your referring to are 12" on the 5fours. It might be leaking there at the bottom, can't see too much in the way. I'll pull the exhaust Y off the headers if I work on it again this year (quick change system, only takes 10 minutes to pull the Y). Not feeling it today.

I might have to pick up a brush, was yelled at for rearranging some ornaments on the tree lol.
