Obviously, that's not what I asked, it's what I'm doing. Not making any noises either, but thanks anyway I guess.

That is what you asked. You stated your situation. What else is there to do. If you have a problem with the AC compressor, there is no fix, per se, other than a switch out. What else are you asking? Maybe I misread it three times.

Well iduno, you would have to rig up the tails and support the filler neck. That's what bungees are for, actually, that wouldn't be too difficult. Yup, still a good idea.
Mount tail lights sideways onto frame rails with zip ties, and a few more zip ties for the filler neck. Boom! Problem solved lol.

No it isn't. So just replacing the unit will won't effect defrost capabilities? There isn't a clutch kit of some sort? Just swap compressor reconnect and I be good ? Yea, I wasen't asking for common sense lessons...I'm good.

NM, I think I know what I'm going to do now, no worries.

That would be better, I was thinking the bumper, but yea, if he could tie them to the frame..... All you have to have is a bumper tails and brakes.

Yup, and while it's off you could hit everything thoroughly with a pressure washer. Not sure how he uses his truck, but that would be a priority for me lol.

The main reason I asked about the changing AC compressor was because I heard it effects the defrost cycle. Like I said in my post earlier, I need an outstanding defrost cycle. No nothing about AC, not my area. I've already decided to do something about it, didn't need to be told to do so.

I always heard that the AC compressor cycles when you have defrost on just to keep the internals lubricated through the winter months. Not sure if it affects how the defrost acts though.

Yea, that I new it did, but that's it. Mann, wish I could remember where I seen that. Just recently, I read a post once your AC's gone (or discharged is what I gather), defrost will still work, but it won't be as good. That's my concern. Plus I know if change certain parts within the system and don't change others in relation, you may forfeit the new parts. Some have said, when doing AC catch everything at once. So that's another concern, don't want to put out for just a compressor only for the accumulator, lines or whatnot to trash it. That's in my initial post as well, - not when to change it lol.

I think I'm good, looking for a quality part in that department now.

Ok now I get what you are saying. Yes the defrost works much better when the AC is attached. The condensing of the air make the heat work much better in the defrost cycle. An AC car/truck will clear the window 1/2 again as fast as a vehicle without AC.

I remember that post as I added my info in that one also.
