Looks like I will be picking up a lightning take off sc and intercooler for $500. Probably also get heads. Local guy who has built a few. He is going to twin turbo since his engine needed some work. Might grab all he is willing to part with. How much should I pay for the heads? $500 for stock sc and intercooler doesn't sound bad. Truck had less than 100k

Heads aren't worth much. $100 maybe? 500 for the blower and intercooler isn't too bad. There are some good writeups on everything that you'll need to put it on your truck. You'll spend a lot of time searching for all the parts, just a warning

Agreed with Zebra as he and I have just gone through the process of acquiring all the needed L-Swap parts, but it can be done if you stay motivated. Check out LightningRodder as well as the various Lightning FB pages for parts. Best of Luck and feel free to PM me if you need any direction.

Zebra was a help to me and thank you kindly to him for that.

Thank you. Main thing is finding engine parts and figuring what to run. Second is sc parts, but came across this guy so might as well.

Get as many parts from this list off of him as possible because this is what you need

Can someone educate me a little on stall speed? I'm gonna be getting my transmission built by the end of the year and I want to make sure I'm making the right choice for the stall speed. I'm having Chris Garrett (highly recommended by the lightning and harley guys) build my 4r70 and he recommends a 2400 stall. I trust his judgment I'm just wondering what effect it will have on towing and cruising Rpm. Right now the engine is stock but it will get built and boosted. I'm running 4.56 gears and 35s. I don't tow much but I don't want to loose to much towing capabilites. The truck is also my daily

Hopefully you have added a Superduty transcooler. If not you need one. I have 2200 now. I personally wouldnt go above it if you do any towing. Its hell on the converter and the heat created is rediculous.

I don't have one yet it's on the list to get done soon tho. How does a higher stall effect driving? I only tow 1 or 2 times a year right now but that may increase greatly in the future. Nothing crazy just a 17 or so foot tracker or Lund

Is it getting harder to find a complete lightning engine now ? Haven't looked in good while.
