I went and looked and you could still faintly see the cross hatching. My plan is to do a strong build capable of boost but probably won't have it right away, I would love to have a really nasty cam just because I love the choppy idle and think it would pair great with boost eventually. I was thinking I'm looking at ~$1600, am I correct? What's some good sites to buy from? What power numbers am I going to be looking at spending about that much? Pretty much guys is I need you to break it all down for me, not too sure on what I need or what I can make out of it being n/a to begin with.
Hmmm are you looking to go forged pistons, crank, connecting rods?

Man if you're going with forged pistons and rods that's gonna be 1400 right off the bat. With all new stuff, machine work, refreshing heads, new valvetrain parts etc will run you up to $3k real fast. I priced out my long block and it's gonna run me about $4k for the basics not including small stuff

Hmmm. How much power could i make if I did forged pistons and connecting rods and a mild cam? I'm thinking I prolly should re- do the whole head but I may not if a shop says they are good.

Yes. And timing components and camshaft.

Guys have made 350 to the wheels with good head work . if you are looking to boost in the future I would go with low or stock compression tho

Yes boost in the future is a possibility and I want to build this engine wth that in mind, with that said I don't need to have the best of everything with the hopes of still having enough funds left over to supercharge. Or being able to throw the engine in N/A and still have fun.

Just don't go over 9.2 cr and you should be ok, even with boost down the road.

If everything checks out with your heads I would at least just get them resurfaced so you know they're true on the mating surface. It'll up the CR ever so slightly but if you plan the other parts out correctly it shouldn't hurt anything.

Thank you everyone. I grabbed the engine a couple hours ago. If anyone has a build list they used I would appreciate it. Because I don't know the good places to go or the good deals or what would work well together in general lol.
