I got mine from a neighbor that owns a trailer park. He said that the 3" PVC is used when they hook up a trailer so you may cruise the trailer parks and see if you can find some scrap. Or you could find a plumbing company, they usually have scrap piles that you could check out. You need less than 6 inches.

I did mine a couple weeks ago and ended up taking it back out. It felt better in the high end but I felt that I lost some low end grunt. After putting in on, I did allow for the computer to reset and etc. I wonder if I didn't see much gain because I still have a stock exhaust. I do however have a SCT X3 with a K&N panel filter.

I did the Gotts mod a few weeks ago and am happy with it. No huge difference but I can notice that the power comes on sooner in the mid-range instead of falling on its face in the low range (like after a shift). Plus I've already recorded my second best fuel mileage at 14.8. So we'll see.

Very, very cool. Even if it doesn't make that much of a huge difference, I just find it quite awesome that w/a few supplies and some ingenuity that we can make a positive change in how our trucks perform.

Now, are most of you that are doing this out of warranty? Brand new truck? Don't care about the warranty? Or don't think it'll effect the warranty?

I have a brand new 2010 and am just a little nervous about changing things under the hood.

easy mod to do.... did it today, i dont see any difference so far. but my air filter needed to be replaced, so i got a new k&n. i will report back in a few weeks. so far, idle still at 750rpm, no change on that. more responsive? more or less mpg? will see in the next weeks.

and just in case somebody need to know what parts, besides the 3" pvc tube in home depot for a 5.4L V8 2004-2008:
