I did this mod and drive my truck harder than before and still saw a 2 mpg increase! I'ts really great

 

Mod complete today!! Took 45 mins total. Engine response seems better. Will monitor the MPG.

 

What year trucks will this work with???

 

My truck is an 04 new body. I have seen some 05 and 06 up here with it done also.

 

97-09 and possibly newer

 

There are write ups for the 97-10 trucks. If someone with a 2011 and the new motors can reinvent a "new age" Gotts for those trucks, I'm sure it'd be appreciated.

So I just dug this up, does it really make a nice differecne, I have all the parts at my shop to do this work. What exactly does it do on the 04 Lariet 5.4 3 valve. Since the filter is on top the engine, do you just pop the part out of the fender well and cut it off and stick a piece of pvc pipe in there instead, what does it do exactly? I dont see how more air can get in over the way it is now. Also what do you do with any sensors that are in the area?
