2011+ 55-60mph 5.0 Shuddering and EcoBoost Engine Miss/Loss of Power - Possible Fixes
As I posted before, my truck supposedly had an engine update and tranny update just over a week ago in an attempt to solve the shuddering / misfire feeling.
While driving today, I realized I can also re-create this feeling in 5th gear while under slight acceleration from 35 to 45 mph. Once again, very low RPMs and a slight load, just like the 6th gear issue. I would assume that this has been going on right along, but I just haven't felt it because it is rare that I drive at 35 mph on smooth (so I can feel the random misfire feeling) road and have just enough acceleration to keep it from shifting down.
BTW, the tech told me that there was no tire size programmed into my truck when he did the updates. This leads me to believe, like Bob Mac, my truck didn't receive the proper programming from the factory.

I think I am having the same issues as everyone else. I have a bad shutter in 6th gear at around 55 mph. I'm just reporting that my dealer is suggesting that it is caused by a tranny problem and not a misfire (which I don't buy at this point). I am still thinking the misfire issue sounds more plausable. My truck was built in mid May 2011.
Still not sure what it was.
My truck is at the dealer right now. I dropped it off this morning and they already called and said its ready. I don't know what they did but I will find out in a little while and report what they said and if it fixed the problem. Fingers crossed.....
